Part time job ideas

Hi. I'm looking for a part time job. Looking really for less than 16 hours a week, but I'm struggling to find any jobs that are only a few hours a week or think of specific job titles to search for.
I'm happy to do a driving job, but it has to be driving a car only.
I am really good with IT and admin. Web design, coding in html, designing leaflets/newsletters, using Microsoft Office, general admin etc.
I'm also really good at selling items online and finding the best place to sell them. I think I'd do best finding a company with products to sell though as I can't think of anything to start selling myself as a business.
I'm not interested in doing retail or bar/restaurant/cafe work. I also don't want to do freelancing, but I am more than happy to work from home and/or be self-employed.
Are there any specific job titles I should be searching for or anything I could do by going self-employed?
Thanks.

Driving jobs for a pharmacy delivering peoples prescriptions. Web design for a local design firm.
Look in your local paper, direct.gov.uk. No particular job titles either.0 -

Thanks. I have just applied for a driving job with a pharmacy, it's what made me consider what other driving jobs I could do. I haven't seen any other jobs like that though. Are there any company websites I should be checking or any keywords I should be searching?
My local paper is generally rather useless, but I do check it. It's been a very long time since I've seen anything decent on the direct.gov site too. It either brings up unrelated results or jobs that are spamming multiple categories.0 -
why part time rather than full time?0

To a certain extent it's just searching until the right job comes up.
I work 16 hours a week ( 8hrs a day, Thurs and Friday)
I didn't do any special searches, just kept looking and looking on the job websites until this one came up.
The rest of my colleagues are full timers, I do a job share, so my role is not something that is limited to part timers.
It's best to keep your search criteria as wide as possible, so that the ideal job doesn't get missed.
Good luck with your search.Early retired - 18th December 2014

I'm just fed up of searching and getting unrelated results and the same jobs over and over again.
Apart from job websites (reed, total jobs, indeed etc.) I do check a few different job sections on company websites, but I'm not sure if there are other companies I should be checking that might not advertise elsewhere or would have the type of job I want.0 -
do you have an idea of what job you might eventually want to do ?
if you have an idea, then you could start looking towards that job sector, getting a part time job in a simlar sector to where you want to end up could help when you are looking for a full time job.
If your not fussy about what you do and just need something, then the student type jobs might be worth looking at, like shop work/supermarkets/bars/pubs, etc.
These types of jobs are usually got by going into the places and simply asking. If they are large chains, they might have thier own online recruitment0 -

Yes theres quite a few firms who employ drivers, for example the supermarkets delivering the online shopping as some of these jobs can be part time, check each of the companies websites for a jobs/recruitment section/link.
There are others like car part firms eg euro car parts plus might be others where you are.0 -

Not sure. I guess eventually a mix of web design and admin. Can do that for any sector or company so haven't got any target sector/company.
I've done charity shop work in the past, but I really don't want to go back into retail. Also don't ever want to work in a bar/pub. I have no interest in that whatsoever and I don't drink so I'm rather lost when it comes to drinks lol. And I'd be even worse at something like waitressing.0 -
Car parts/motorfactors places usually want casual drivers as turn over of staff is quite high. They usually pay minimum wage and if you know your local area it's great (I don't but I am learning where my drops are).
How I got the job - I went into one place that sells car parts on line and asked to see the dispatch manager then asked if they were taking on casual drivers. They said yes, I saw the warehouse manager and the dispatch manager for an interveiw and I filled in a form. Admittedly I don't get much work from them, it's very ad-hoc and I can get a call in the morning for working that day.
You can also ask if the local motor home place wants people to drive their motorhomes to exhibitions etc.
Could you ask the local ambulance service if they need volunteer drivers (think you get paid milage)?
"Web Developer" is the job you should also look out for to use your HTML skills.
as for admin skills - I get some admin jobs by walking into the agencies in my local town (there's a long road with them all on) and said "I can type, what jobs can I do". I was tested on my keyboard skills and got given a data entry job, or filing job or whatever job is going.
Temping rocks - no commitment and great opportunities for up-skilling if you want it.
