Hi thanks for all your replies.

I wish I could see who was doing it, but where the bins are I can't see.

The letter said "YOU THINK YOU ARE A SMART !!!!!, WELL I'M TELLING YOU, I'VE USED THIS BIN FOR YEARS AND IF YOU DON'T TAKE THE F**KING LOCK OFF I'LL BREAK IT AND STICK IT UP YOUR A**E.

Sorry for the confusion about shared ownership, I did originally buy 25% but I staircased up to 100%.

I have no intention of removing the lock. My bin is clearly numbered.

I think I'm just a bit taken aback that someone could get so het up about not being able to dispose of their rubbish in other peoples bin. I'm speechless.

I will tape the offending letter to my bin.

Oh my god OP I just burst out laughing at that note! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

The thought of that just leaves me cold, actually it gives me the boke. When I went to put my bin bag in the other day, the bin was stinking, they don't even use bin bags.

    I'd rather not.

That note is pretty shocking - but either way I would just ignore it. Trying to get 'revenge' etc is just going to anger this person further. Keep the letter in case something else happens - but ignoring it (not inflaming the situation further) is probably the best solution.

When we had a mysterious bin dumper, my OH braved up and decided to find the culprit hopefully by a named letter. Instead what he found was rotten cardboard that had obviously been left out during the biblical floods they were that bad.

The gagging went on for quite a while. I would not recommend it!

I know, think I may have to go down after dark and check my lock is still there, making sure my a***e is well protected.

The thing is before I left, everyone in the stair was so nice and we didn't have any problems with each other. Hell we even had residents meetings to discuss any problems. When I moved back in I had to clear bags and bags of rubbish from the bin store (what we used to use before wheelie bins).

Put your own note on your bin, something like "to the passive agressive !!!!! who didn't even have the stones to put their name & flat number on the pathetic note left on MY bin. I could give 2 !!!!!! that you used this bin for years. I live here now so I suggest you get a life & your own bin, lazy fcuk."

I'd then wait in my flat with a baseball bat for the knock on the doorr, but I am pretty sure the !!!!!! wouldn't dare. That's just me though, I tend to be proactive :D
I don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.

But what gets me, is when I put my bin out there were still 4 bins full to the brim still sitting there. Why are people too lazy to move a bin to get emptied but instead just shove their crap into other peoples.

I'm really not suggesting this, it would be an overreaction, unnecessary escalation, and a waste of resource...

But that is a threat and, as such, could be a matter for reporting to Old Plod.

Given your username is Thumper7, not DitzyTwinkleFairyCakie, I suspect you may not feel threatened. But, it is a stated threat against your person ... that's assuming I can guess what the last two asterisks represent.

On the other hand, he's quite grammatical and eloquent for a foul-mouthed t0ssp0t. I'd give the note credit for that.

If the spineless culprit hasn't got the nerve to say it to your face I'd just ignore the note altogether. What are they going to do? Post you another note? Oooooooooh scary! :D

p.s Wear an extra set of underwear just incase they do decide to ram the padlock where the sun doesn't shine. Make them work for it!
