  • Just been to see the broker to fill in the mortgage application form, another tick off the list!
  • This thread was supposed to be my little diary to keep my mind afresh on what has happened so far, alas time got the better of me and I never kept on top of it!

Any how a little update nonetheless, Yesterday at 17:30 I got a phone call advising me that Exchange has now taken place and the completion date is set for the 7th November.

We are delighted to finally be moving into our bigger home, also a good time before christmas to get things sorted. All in all a very happy family :)
  • So we are finally in the week we move house :)

Completion day is Thursday 7th November and we feel like have a good handle on things. We decided to rent a storage unit for two weeks and in that time have been running a few boxes a day down there, this has helped us as we only have a little house so have not needed to live around boxes!

Come the 'big day' once the house is emptied (white goods etc) just a short trip to the storage unit to grab all the boxes, should be a nice easy move!!

I hope everything goes smoothly for you.
  • Well not all plain sailing so far!

We 'Exchanged' on the 28th October & I am yet to receive a completion statement from the solicitors. I have just called them & they are waiting on information from the shored ownership organisation that has a second charge on the property, I know it is 25% of the sale price yet obviously this isnt good enough info! They have had a whole week, no, they have had since the beginning of September when I fully instructed them to proceed with the sale & purchase!

Why do they work in their own slow speed!!!

We are selling a shared ownership property too, it wouldn't even have occurred to me that there could be problems with them. I'm going to call my solicitors tomorrow to make sure they have everything in place to transfer the funds to them.

Good luck, I hope you get your completion date soon.
