    Another satisfied Dyson customer here

I had a DC02 which was originally my dads and is 10 years old. We swapped our upright Dyson (to big and bulky for me to drag round, plus he has carpets which are more suited to an upright whereas we have laminate) for his DC02 cylinder, but I did know it needed some repairs. For one things the plastic tube had broke, the telescopic tube was held together by masking tape and the thing that holds these 2 parts together was also held together by masking tape. My dad priced the parts up and just for the plastic tube it was £30 (although from a high street shop, not from Dyson themselves)

Anyway I range them a couple of weeks ago and booked a service. The chap turned up today earlier than planned but he did call to check that this was ok. He has replaced the motor and cable/plug and wind in mechanism (even though there wasn't anything wrong with these) 2 new filters, and ordered me a new telescopic tube, plastic tube and the thing that connects the 2 to be delivered in the next 4 days.

He even polished the hoover before he left!

All this for £65 and all parts are guaranteed for a year.

I could have bought a new hoover for £65 (or less) but not of the standard of a Dyson. All in all I'm very pleased with the service.

My old Dyson snapped in half a couple of years ago, they replaced the part and changed my power lead as it was already a few years old back then.
My new(ish) one is also a Dyson, primarily due to the fantastic customer service.

Another big thumbs up for Dyson :T

My Dyson is out of warranty, but the roller with the brushes on it broke, I was going to buy a new one, until I found a thread on here suggesting they might sell replacements. I phoned and they sent the part, free of charge - I wrote to their Customer Services, and thanked them :A

  • My Dyson is 11 years old and still going strong - i just pay for a service when it doesn't work. Last week it had its 2nd service. i paid £65. The engineer was prompt and polite. He changed everything thatwas worn as well as the faulty clutch. The parts came to more than the service and its guarentted for 12mths. Once you have bought one you need never buy another as everything is covered in the service. I asked about the new washing mchine as well and its due soon, i'll be buying one if it comes with the same service.wendy

My DC04 has been unwell recently and I phoned Dyson and they quoted me £65 too. Apparently they'll replace anything apart from the onboard tools for that.

My problem is loss of suction, a burning smell when the machine is switched on and the base of the motor gets very hot.

    Anyone else had this?

Hi, I am having the same problem with mine, have tried all the obvious, checking for blockages, cleaning the filter etc. I have stopped using it for the time being as concerned that it will burn out? Suppose I will have to book a service.
  • As someone who is awaiting delivery of her new and first dyson, I'm delighted by all the good reviews of their customer service.

Though I am slightly worried about being so excited about getting a new hoover. I'm sure that at 21 a hoover should not be exciting!!

My DC07 has had the same problem in January, so I booked a service (had the Dyson 8 years and had a service 4 years ago) and the guy came out yesterday. He was very prompt, very friendly and professional - even had a look at my kid's toy hoover :D For the £65 charge he replaced the brush bar, clutch, motor, motor casing, filters and the whole see-thru 'bin' and inner cyclone part. He said the rubber sealant on the inner filter bit had worn and that's the number 1 reason for loss of suction and then the Dyson can't cope and the motor overheats and will eventually stop - so go book your services!

So many people I know just don't know about this service and end up throwing their Dysons away and getting new ones:eek:
