Barclays Bank have been fobbing me off since 2011

Hello - I'm at my wits end so bear with, I'll try to get to the point quickly - it turns out after a lot of digging around i've had 2 loans and 1 barclay card with Barclays although they have tried to deny this and made it very very difficult for me to get this information. I first made a claim in 2011 and the FOS are still waiting for Barclays to get back to them. Since my initial claim I've sent proof of the loans to Barclays (and FOS) but I'm getting now where, do I resort to a demanding letter with the threat of legal action? They don't even respond when I write to them, maybe I should send recorded?
It's like dealing with a back street business when I try to call them as I get passed around so much or just hung up on, I've amounted nearly 32 hrs on the phone with Barclays and I just don't know what else to do???? Arrrggghhhhh, sorry I'm probably not making sense as I'm just so frustrated....do you think I should try one more letter (recorded) or will this mess up my case as it's with the FOS?
I know I was mis-sold the ppi it's pretty shocking how underhand Barclays are behaving.
Any help or advice at all much appreciated - thanks.

Whenever I made a complaint its always with the CEO'S with a particular Bank or any Bank as if you noticed, the normal ordinary customer service plebs are useless and never pass on important information to relevant departments , and always get Indian speaking call centres who cannot pronounce your name properly. With the CEO'S they seem to panic more to deal with your complaint as it makes them look very bad etc. I got £100 just by complaining about how they dealt with my successful PPI complaint. Works every time, LOL.0

I've just sent them both an email, fingers crossed, thanks again.0

:DThey tend to respond to you quickly by e-mail but especially by ringing you about the complaint you made. Hope you put your mobile and home phone number on the e-mail so they can ring you.0

Once you have complained to the FOS, the company you are dealing with will have nothing more ot do with you, since you have passed on your complaint for someone else to handle, so that's why they won't talk to you.
All you've done is frustrate yourdself for no reason at all and spend lots of time on the phone for nothing.
Your complaint is now with the FOS so deal with them, and ask them what;s going on. Since complaints can take [normally] 18 months, your complaint is not unusual in it's length of time.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Yes, once you refer your complaint to FOS the Bank won't correspond with you any further. All you've done is frustrate yourdself for no reason at all and spend lots of time on the phone for nothing.
Sending the CEO letters or E-Mails will prove just as frustrating in these circumstances.
Expect to be waiting a year to eighteen months for the FOS process to be concluded and note that there are no guarantees of success.0 -
Oxalis, you should of e-mailed the CEO before going to the FOS. But wait for the CEO response since now you sent the e-mail and see what happens.0

There's no point in e-mailing the CEO. His complaint is with the FOS.
Barclays will not deal with him directly because he's passed his complaint on to the FOS.
There is no reason for him to communicate with Barclays now at all.
I'm not even sure judging by the first post that he actually complained properly or at least understood the complaint process.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Taff, I only communicated with my Bank after going to the FOS. The FOS upheld my complaint whilst I was waiting for the Bank to get in touch with the FOS I e-mailed the CEO of my Bank to complain why they are taking so long, but the CEO ( office ) of my Bank already sent the FOS an e-mail and letter to the FOS weeks earlier to say that they wanted to make me an offer, the FOS did not even noticed after I pushed them to respond to the Bank communication and then the FOS said the Bank will communicate with me and their was no need for me to have any more dealings with the FOS if I was happy with the Banks offer. The Bank had said that it wanted to make me an offer. What I am trying to say is that the CEO of the Barclays Bank will communicate with OP as its a different department which deals with escalated complaints. What happened with him is that he got messed about, it wont hurt trying it this way as he is already frustrated.0

He'll be even more frustrated when he receives the response from the CEO's office. FOS are awaiting information from Barclays, but it's not possible for the complainant to chase the Bank up and he simply has to wait while the FOS continue to follow the correct (but slow) complaint procedure.it wont hurt trying it this way as he is already frustrated.
Your own (alleged) experience is irrelevant to this case.0
