A complete about face
I know some will probably say that I am rubbish and that I should practice what I preach, but I contacted 3 today with the prime intention of asking for my pac code and going over to Giffgaff.
Well I didn't leave in the end, but infact managed to wring a great deal out of them for a sim only 12 month contract for both myself an also my wife (as her contract is up as well).
200 cross network minutes
300 3 to 3 minutes
5000 texts
500 mb data
£6.90 p/m inc vat for 12 months.
I have always been a light user and have wasted money on my previous contract as I never got anywhere near using my monthly allowance.
This new deal is closer to my actual usage and at £6.90 p/m is much cheaper than the next closest tariff from Giffgaff and you get more mins and data.
I have also ordered my Google Nexus 4 and I will be giving my current handset to my wife (Galaxy Ace) as she will be happy with that. (will be her first smartphone)

Thats great news, but to be honest you could have probably gotten a better deal if you haggled. I've heard of people getting unlimeted everything for similar prices, but as you say it may be all you need anyway as your wife is on 3 network also. so call the 300 3to3 minutes wife credit!!

That looks like Essential Internet 200 12 month

It does seem a pretty good deal for the average user who doesn't mind signing up for 12 months.====0 -

Standard cost deal. Could have gone through TCB and gotten an even better deal.0

How could you have done that? You have 30 days to use a PAC code or it lapses. You didn't use it, so you were still in contract.0 -

I got this deal for my nephew a few months ago. At the time Quidco/TCB were giving £43 cashback on it, making the net cost £3.31/mth. He's delighted
Sadly, the cashback is 'only' £21 now but still a very good deal if you don't mind the year long commitment. 0 -

No i cancelled my contract, and asked for PAC code which i got, i started using another PAYG sim and didn't bother transferring the number, so basically yes after 30 days i no longer owned the number, but they still called me back and offered this with same number as i never transferred it.0 -

Sorry, that makes no sense, you cannot cancel a contract and ask for a PAC.
A PAC can only be used on a live line, once cancelled it cannot be ported. If you request a PAC, and don't use it the line will stay live.
When you use the PAC, the number transfer acts as the termination.====0
