My best buy from Poundland has been the rotary dryer cover - you know the things you slip over your dryer when it's folded up! maybe they don't last as long as others - I think mine have each lasted about 1.5 -2 years before they disintegrated (after being outside all the time!), but I've seen equivalent in other places for up to £14 so quite happy to spend £1 on one that lasts up to 2 years!
Also table/chair & BBQ covers, same as above, don't last as long but at a mere fraction of the price I'm happy to keep buying them!
Also this week 3 packs of Jammy or Choccy dodgers for £1 in Poundland, a National supermarket which claims to be one of the cheapest selling for £1.19 per packet!

if like me you picked up a nice nook ebook reader when they were £30 you might want to pop into poundland and pick up a little £1 clip on ebook light.

Its a great little white clip on light, with a thin metal bendy wire arm holding a very bright little led light to shine over your nook or any other ebook reader in low light situations.
Includes the batteries and its a great little thing to have about. Handy for a lot of other purposes and at a quid cant be beat. the cheapest equivelent on ebay is about £3 or £4 with delivery.

Is this the Poundland cold sore cream so I will know what I am looking for the next time I am in a store?

Yes. The active ingredient is 'Aciclovir' which is the same as more expensive brands.

The microfibre cloths in a packet of 4 are very good, and last indefinitely.
The silicone-impregnated cloth to use as a liner for roasting tins etc. is excellent, completely non-stick, entirely washable (with dishes rather than in washing machine) and lasts ages.
The big strong shower comb I bought recently has been great.

DO NOT BUY the bike mudguards!! The brackets (mainly the rear), are crap to say the least! I own a bike shop & the amount of customer's who come back after they've bought their "bargain" guards, only to come back to me and say "you were right!". I did tell them, but it's the £ signs they see, NOT the quality. Same as they do when buying a bike, £ signs again! Then I get all the earache about their "bargain....NOT"

    No to:
Xpell Insect Repellent Spray (Green Bottle) - had no effect on midges
Sports/injury foamy supports - smelt so bad I had to throw it out, I tried washing it first and it had no effect.

    Yes to:
    Wotsits/Quavers - 5 bags
    Straws - 250
    Duct tape - 10 m (Tesco £1.96 for 15m)
    Black shoe polish - 2 for £1

Yes to the finish powerball dishwasher tablets.

£1 for 10 making them 10p each, even the promotions in the supermarket when they're half price are about £7.50 for 60 tabs.

I've only seen these recently in PoundLand though, I did buy about 20 boxes last time I saw them in PoundWorld, World is easier to get to as it's on an estate with free parking, the Land is in the town centre and you have to pay to park.

Recently bought two bike locks for my children. Turns out we now have three spare keys as both locks are opened by the same key. Pretty pointless IMO, though I suppose that's what you get for a pound!

  • My favourite Poundland buys:
    Gift tubes for wine
Flatpacked cardboard gift boxes for baked treats. I wish I'd bought more as haven't seen them since. Also individual cupcake boxes, which you can put a stack of cookies in.
Plastic storage boxes with clip-on lids and handles on top, saved so much room in our cupboards
Ibuprofen at £1 for 3 packs - seen same brand at a local pharmacy for silly money for one pack
Mini WD40 can - ml for ml probably not a bargain but I only need a little bit
Computer screen cleaning kit - a spray, cloth and (most useful) a little brush for getting crumbs out of keyboards.
EDIT Also the reusable baking liner stuff (light brown colour). I've cut it up and used to line so many things, perfect for meringues/macarons too.

    Not so good
Plant bulbs - half of them are being sold at the wrong time of year or have the wrong planting instructions, and of all the ones I've planted very few have ever come up.

I've seen Poundland vajazzling kits, never bought but it did make me laugh!

Ever so slightly cheaper at tesco at 32p for 16, they have their own brand and the galpharm ones.
