iPhone 4S, why so expensive second hand
My daughter has had her unlocked, no contract iPhone 4S stolen.
So now looking to replace it and we are surprised at how expensive they are second hand.
So she wants to replace like with like, not looking for an iphone5.
So this is a phone that came out ages ago in smart phone terms. Cost new about £500 two years ago. If it were a car it would be selling for £200 or less.
However prices are about £350 on the web. Perhaps we are looking in the wrong places.
Help.
Thanks

Because it still quite a good phone and people want them.
If the 4S is £350. Another £100 should get her a second hand 5 32GB. And I would use the opertunity to. They are lighter and faster.0 -

Theres a black one at £255 delivered, seems reasonable price to me.0 -
I assume she's activated the Find My Phone app to trace and/or render it useless to a third party? And also contacted the police? They can actually take a photograph of the thief using the forward facing camera if/when they attempt to turn it on, even with a different SIM.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

I assume that's a 4 not a 4S0

For the sake of the 'agro' I'd sooner pay the extra £100 and get a new 4s to replace, remember though what people are asking are not necessarily what they change hands for, look on ebay and tick the completed sales section to see what they are actually going for.0 -
With such an expensive phone it really is worth getting it insured, if my son had his phone stolen and if he wanted an Iphone 4 he would be paying for it himself.0
