 Rant Alert

Just got back from town, I'm seething.

DD2 wanted me to go to "Game" to get her a couple of games with her birthday money - the assistant was serving another member of staff when I got to the till....he carried on his conversation throughout my transaction and even went off upstairs to look for something for the other bloke....no apology. A third member of staff came over - started asking the other 2 about a list.......I was eventualy told to "shove it in the slot" with a finger pointed at my card in hand.

I asked to speak to the manager, it was the 3rd member of staff, I told him, in front of the others, that I was digusted with their customer service....he said - yeah - fair enough and walked away - the other 2 members of staff burst out laughing.

I feel a strong letter coming on to their head office.

Then went to the bank for some Euros - don't have any - go to the travel agents.....walk the length of the town to the nearest one, they said I couldn't pay via switch/delta unless I had a drivers licence or passport with me  I ended up walking out of there too.

All in all a naff day - sorry for the rant - and just to make it OS I've just eaten a bar of choccy from the storecupboard....does that count as the storecupboard challenge??

(((Hugs))) Pooky Sometimes it drives you mad doesn't it? I have learned recently that a lot of shop staff (not all, some are absolute angels) could learn a thing or two from the americans, they at least have learned about customer service! Have you tried play.com for the games? good prices and free delivery. Good for you for complaining but I think a letter to HQ might shake them up a bit especially if you let them know that you have passed on your experience of their kind of customer service to your mse friends;)

Oh dear, it's just gone very dark & there's been a huge rumble of thunder!
I'm on MSE as a self preservation tactic, I've just had a snotty email from HR telling me I should have my own facilities to print out & send letters from home. Well if the tight-fisted b@****ds would buy me a printer then I might be able too   Plus it was a HR letter to send, so why am I doing it?? Grrrrr. So I'm on here to stop me ringing the sanctimonious little git & telling him to stuff his letter where the sun don't shine.
*deep breath* calm
Pooky - swop you a HR "assistant" for a Game one anyday!
Scuzz (hugs). It's all been said, but think of yourself for a change.
B Rzl - enjoy Glyndebourne & the picnic
PPincher - it's been ages since we went "wine shopping" in France, last time we went fairly early & were tasting wines before 9am :D now that's what I call shopping! glad you had a good time
AussieLass - enjoy Wales, wave as you go past here on your way
Catowen - your poor friend, how upsetting for her to be so far away.
Kyle - I think I'm having sympathy pains, my mouth hurts just reading about it, so you must be in agony. Poor you
VickyA - LOL at Dilbert being chased by a dog :rotfl: I bet that's his excuse not to go any more ;)
Chipps - I often miss every other bin collection (meaning it only gets emptied once a month) as it's not even half full. What is all the fuss about?

Hugs to everyone else, Ive calmed down a bit now! Pea, prawn & asparagus risotto for tea, yum. Plus it's payday - the most satisfying thing I do all month is transfer money into my savings account on payday! How sad is that?

:hello: Gooooood Afternoon fellow OS'ers :hello:

Apologies for not having read the whole thread today :o

catowen - sincere condolences extended to your dfriend, that is so sad :( Her poor dd having to deal with that *and* her GCSE's ((hugs)) She is very lucky to have such a good friend in you, because I know you will give her dd the support she needs to deal with both issues (plus the 3rd of missing her own mum too :( )
catznine/taplady - :T Congrats to your ds's :T
Pooky - ((hugs)) I found the GPO was great when I needed to buy Euro's - mind you I paid by cheque because they wouldn't take Switch/Visa  As for "Game" ... a load of thossers, the lot of them! :naughty: I had a right "jobsworth" one day (yes, Manager!) .. never been back since, voted with my feet ;)
kyle - so very delighted to hear you went to the Dr's :T

Well, been a busy bee today :D Had to go shopping with my much restricted "budget" (and cash only!). I did some calculations and worked out a) how much cash I had for the month
b) how much that equated to per day
c) how much that equated to per week.

Drew up a spreadsheet in Excel to do all the calculations. Only took the max cash allotted for the week to the supermarket today.
My oh my, just how much does *that* have a profound effect on how you shop!!!!! :rotfl: Still managed a bargain or two though ;)

The lads had drawn up an inventory of the chest freezer, fridge/freezer, the larder and the stock cupboard. Oooh, never realised what a little hoarder I've become :o

So, the task when I got home was to input all their data into a spreadsheet - took a bit of time - then I printed off the two pages worth and from that I shall be drawing up a menu plan to get us through until the end of June.

Still need to check the payments I've made to Mr T's Visa have gone through to clear any and all balance so that I can go and pick up my car tomorrow :j :j :j

We all know it's going to be a lean month because of having to transfer funds this way and that way, *but*, it was necessary so I could max the credit card without incurring a loss of interest in the high interest account and it does mean we'll be ahead of ourselves in one month's time :D Good job too because the stock cupboard and freezer will need replenishing :rotfl:

It'll all pay dividends in the end ;)

Hi, all!

Catowen - hugs for you and yours.

Pooky - rubbish customer service makes me    There are several shops and businesses who've lost my custom due to that. I use it as an incentive to get my children to try hard at school "if you don't work hard, you'll end up working at........" :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Kyle, hope the antibiotics kick in and you feel better soon.

Was supposed to be Flying today, but got a bit distracted. Spent the morning baking (lemon drizzle cake, chocolate yogurt cake, shortbread hearts and stars to have with stewed rhubarb from the garden, 2 quiche cases and 12 damson jam tarts). My sister arrives tomorrow, and I need to feed her  I then spent a couple of hours in the garden, and then for a 13 mile bike ride with DS. He didn't let up - no resting for me, and we did it in record time :T

Meal plan went out the window - DS asked for pork pie from the butcher, so we're having that with HG new potatoes and salad from the polytunnel.

Off to clean the bath, before choir tonight, honest

Afternoon all!

Money situ seems a little better as I received a cheque through this morning, so that's next months expenses covered (essential ones anyway).

Has been a lovely day, have Guides camp cooking on Saturday, hope the weather holds up for it as wouldn't want it to be cancelled! Looks like BargainRzl will have the sun smiling on her at Glyndebourne, it's literally 4 miles from me :)

Have got a few things done, hope to have more done by the evening! the Ebay stuff didn't happen though, will take my time with it instead and do some listings on Sunday instead!

Glad Kyle went to the Dr in the end!

xx

Good Evening all

I have just listed 15 craft items on ebay. Slowly going through my cupboard & drawers and trying to minmise my stuff.

Plus in between doing dinner, spag bol in the end!

Ive got a hair appt tomorrow after work. Highlights & cut, I just hope that exOH doesn't mess me around and not collect the kids as usual (he has them every friday). I was late booking this appointment, and they could only fit me in then, so I daren't leave it any longer!

Anyway, off to eat my dinner, catch you all later
