OS Thursday 31st May 2007

Hi, this is today's Daily Thread. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning All
After not being able to see 10 am for 10 days, now back to normal, probably caught up with my sleep. Slept well but just woke up early.

Eventually managed to post yesterday after 11 pm so missed most of you, so thought I would get in early today.

((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))))))) to Scuzz and anyone else in need. Don't forget the ears are here for anyone if you need them either on the public forum or on PM's.

Plans for the day: Shower in around 25 mins, so probably will fit a coffee/flakes in first. W*rk! then Aldi, maybe try to fit a Boots trip in at lunchtime to see if there are any bargains to be had (thanks for the info AMIE), but the one near work the 2 Points Machines are both US and have been since before my hols. so a call to customer services is needed me thinks. Lunch may be a Shapers meal deal from Boots (50p off voucher to be used and nothing in the fridge since my holidays yet!). Tea will be what ever we buy at Aldi (Fresh not pre-made) or our standby emergency meal Beans on Toast with Poached Egg. Friends coming down for the evening, so I suppose some red wine may be consumed:beer: may get back on here late, and will try to keep up reading on here while at work when waiting for the PC to respond  Cleaner due today so better have a quick luck around before my shower to put away any "flutters" as my Mum called them. Still trying to catch reading/deleting my emails from my hols.

Take care

Good morning Donny-gal......and all to follow..

well its not raining at the mo, so i think im going to put the wm on and keep my fingers crossed !!!, i bet as soon as the kids are back at school next week then it will go warm and dry again, its not fair on them when its raining everyday.

has anyone been watching springwatch bbc 2 8pm ? its so good.

well i watched the new housemates go into the big brother house.... well that seemed to be a waste of time... its full of "Barbie dolls "" except for a few
and the way the house is laid out ( cooker in the bedroom, bath in the seating area, fridge in the garden ect ) is going to be a nightmare !!!!!! there will be loads of rows !!!!!!!!!

pasta for dinner today i think, have some leftover chicken from yesterday, so that can go in it as well !!!

well im off for a chat with my veggies,
    hugs to you all

Good morning DG and Amie! Woken up to a bright sunny day here (do you have similar, DG?). This wasn't forecast, but I'm not complaining. Will probably have some more time in the garden. I planted some more beans and some flower seedlings, yesterday. Also weeded the strawberries, so more weeding is needed.

My sister arrives tomorrow, so need to make up a room for her, and do some baking.

Off to get some cakes going, and start on the ironing.

See you all later, Penny. x

    Morning guys!

The sun is shining here at the moment, AIME i think you might be lucky with the washing today, i will get mine on soon:)

I sat in bed and watched episodes 8-12 of Charmed Season One last night. I love that programme:) Im re-watching it all via Lovefilm at the moment (all 178 episodes lol)

Hopefully the weather will stay dry today so the older children can go out and play with their friends. DD is off to nursery this morning and DS3 is out for the day with his respite carers, so i may well take the opportunity to do a bit of grocery shopping without them under my feet lol:)

I really need to do an inventory of the cupboards, fridge and freezer today, as starting monday I am joining in with the June grocery and PMS challenges. I did so well with PMS when I first joined the site a couple of years ago, and it is true that if you dont specifically put the money you have saved aside, it just disappears! We really need a new tv for the front room and some new curtains, so that will be what I will be saving the PMS money for:)

breakfast is cereal and or toast

lunch is pitta, ham and salad with cup a soup

dinner tonight will be use up night (maybe omlettes with all those odds and sods that need using up in the fridge:))

My cat still hasnt had her kittens yet...... watch this space:)

    Have a great day

    Hi Everyone

I was sent home from work with stress yesterday they just wouldn't let me stay. I tried talking to bf yesterday but didn't get very far. He disappeared the day before saying he'd gone for a long walk and never let me know he was back safe, making me worry something had happened. Turns out he was with his ex "talking things through". I tried asking how he feels about me and he said "he doesn't want to rush into things, but does care". Now last week he wanted us to move abroad together and buy a business. I told him I don't want my heart broken, but all he said was he doesn't want to be hurt either, especially after all he's been through this year. I feel I'm going round in circles. Foolishly I used the "l-word" the other day, thinking I shouldn't have, but was so worried I had to. We've been together nearly 4 months, but I don't get any affection. I know he's had the worst year ever for reasons I can't go into, but I feel a bit used. The trouble is, whilst everyone tells me to walk away, I do love him very much. I can't leave but at the same time, the stress is making me ill. I'm considering talking to his family about it as I can talk to them quite easily. He does seem to be avoiding talking and seeing me at the moment, but he's been pretty ill lately.

Sorry for the rant, but needed to get it off my chest and you lot are always so good on here. Please help

Got some extra money coming my way next week as I'm taking part in some talk thing my friend's got me involved with.

    Hi all

Didnt have a great night, can hardly eat anything now without my mouth being sore, juice, milk, yoghurt etc are all no no's! have to wait for dentist appointment as that is my first one so will keep going with painkillers and salty washes, back to aberdeen on the 11th, so will mention then how sore it is.

Dont know whats planned today yet, need to get more eggs etc as i want to make more banana bread, at the mo i am doing another section on my recipe folder, was printing off soups/slow cooker meals last night.

Have booked tickets for pirates 3 on saturday for boys, mil will look after lo, was over yesterday and the boys cousin was there, he is 3 and his thing just now is talking his toy dog for a pee pee on the potty every 2 mins:rotfl: aww cute.

Ds1 had opticians yesterday as he was complaining of eye pain, all fine though, and he has perfect vision, his eyes get sore when he is doing maths so she suggested a word with teacher and thought maybe the glare off the paper was giving his sore eyes.

Got the confirmation letter to take boys out of school in october for hols:j basically letter said taking them away during term time was activley discouraged but as it was exceptional circumstances it would be allowed! all set to go then:D

    hugs

scuzz - if u want my honest opinion, i would say give him space, walk away for a bit, let him come to you, if after 4 months he hasnt shown any commitment or affection towards you, then something is not right, sounds as if he has a lot of issues to deal with first and he should be talking it through with you not his ex.

Since u love him this will be very hard to do, but could work in your favour when he decides what he wants, i would strongly advise against moving abroad with him at this stage, as he is still not showing you what he should.

Hope everything works out and hope u feel better soon

    Hugs

scuzz.... i think that kyle has just hit the nail on the head.... as hard as it may seem.. i think it would be the right thing to do, I had my heart broken so many times when i was younger so i know how you are feeling, but believe me unless someone has feelings for you as well then it will just be heartache all the way.
You are a lovely girl and deserve only the best... so give yourself some pampering and me time, go out with some mates even just to the cinema so it helps to take your mind of things.. it wont be easy.. but hang in there.. we are all here for you and im sure that i lot of us know through experience what you are going through.

EXTRA EXTRA big HUGS FOR YOU X X X

    Good morning everyone,

scuzz - kyle has just put exactly what i was going to put, ((HUGS)) to you, im sure you will know what to do xxx

Kyle - hope the mouth feels a bit better soon, is their no chance of an appointment a bit sooner? You should be starting to feel a bit better now (although i know from my wisdom tooth last year it does take a very long time!!!) so it would be worth getting it checked out xx

Well, a quieter day for me today (1 LO and 2 BOs) so should be able to get my ebay listings done (dont forget its 5p listing day!!!). Also want to do some shopping (i also have a £7 off a £50 spend, cant rememeber who had one yesterday) so im planning on going through my freezer in a bit to see if there is anything i need to stock up on.
Had a phone call from my lovely friend in Oz yesterday, she has had terrible news, her mum has died (it was expected, but still a horrible shock) and she is not able to come over in time for the funeral. The other thing is her DD is taking her GCSEs next week (at least one exam a day) and as its half term, there is no way of contacting the school at the mo to see if there is anything they can help with. Her mum is from Leeds, so her DH and DD are there at the mo, but as her mums partner has taken it really badly, her DH needs to stay to sort out the funeral, but DD needs to be here for her exams, so i have offered to have her for the few days that are needed. just waiting to here from DH to see what train she will come home on so i can collect her.
Better news is DS wants his friend to sleep over tomorrow night (and they can watch the England match) so if we do make it to Tescos, will pick up some nibbly bits for them - ive never done a sleep over before, so ould be interesting, but DSs friend is a lovely lad so i dont think there will be any probs.
Right, better get on, or i will get nothing done.
    Have a lovely day everyone,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
