Whatever you do don't use the washing machine. it could blow up or cause an,electrical fire.
sheila what a nightmare. The carer should be ashamed 2 hours late thats ridiculous.
got absolutely drenched walking ds2 home, the weather completely turned.the wind was so strong that little man was nearly knocked over five times. Luckily a bus turned up when the wind and rain went up another notch. Ds2 was freaking out, he can't stand the rain, but today it was pounding.
Came back to a chicken dinner for tea.
Hester didn't know amazon did a daily list for the kindle, please could you send me, the link to. thank you0 -
I got it Hester
thank you! About to go get washed then PJ's and have a look.
Kez we've had weather like that pretty daily since before Christmas. People here are being flooded over and over again. Sandbags are permantly at doors in the town and to get home I have to navigate a one way system that is flooded and gets deeper by the day. Our river is no longer a river but flooded field upon field. Up north we're led to believe that Southerners are soft and cry over the slightest thing - aaaah aaaah, no way, stupid prejudice. Folk here are getting on with things as if there's no water or wind about.
Bread in the fridge. I have found a loaf of bread in 2 lady's fridge this evening. Is this an OS top for bread freshness or linked to their dementia does any one know?
SDG I'm feeling for you tonight. OH's just don't see the signs huh? Maybe ta a good idea that he keeps on with the Internet -it doesn't sound like the appliances should be fiddled with, keep safe you two. I hope you can find something cheaper and soon but above all I hope that the not coping feeling boogar off soon and that your anti d's kick in. I hope for you a more positive day tomorrow x0 -
Fuddle,
I've known people to put bread in the fridge, mostly Americans. It keeps it from going mouldy, but it makes it stale much, much faster. I don't do it myself. It sounds as if you've had a trial by fire (or floods!) for your first few weeks down South---I admire your strength.0 -
fuddle - I know many people who store their bread in the fridge, havent ever had enough room to try it though
SDG((hugs)) as others have said please dont use the machine - its probably just a wire come loose and touching the metal bits so easy to fix but its incredibly dangerous0 -
It sounds as though a gasket has gone in the dryer. It stops the surfaces of the metals from toughing each other.0

My home isn't effected Princess, I'm really lucky. It's the roads that effect me, trying to navigate road closures and areas to avoid etc but there's others that only miles away that are faring really poorly in this.
It's kind of you to say but I feel like I'm not strong down here. I think I would have needed to be strong living the life I was up North. I ran away to pastures green, ok they're a bit sodden at the moment but the sun will shine eventually0 -
fuddle know what you mean!
Your doing really well coping! You should be really proud of yourself.
If we still lived in the old house we would have been flooded
No electric and water cut off. But we've moved yay! One good thing eh lol
We were only over that way because ds2 was in school otherwise we could have avoided it all. Instead just stayed in a warm dry house.
My friends parents have been flooded four times since October and they 2 miles away from the old house. four times!!! They on flood alert again today.
OH has been stuck in the flood waters today, had to cancel four jobs as the banks have over flowed.
Its crazy all the country they are gale force winds and floods all over, the ground is so saturated thats no where for the water to go.
Possesion what a nightmare with the freezer
hope your OH's interview went well0 -
I keep bread in the fridge!! and I aint demented!
yet.0 -
My grandma (93 I think) always keeps her bread in the fridge. Mind you my other grandma used to hide her purse in the oven if the doorbell rang so perhaps my family is not the best example.
thanks Kez, he said it went quite well but who knows? Preparing for the one on thursday now.0 -
I always thought it stayed fresher ?0
