Pooky, for goodness sake why did you not remind me of the couscous mountain when I had everyone here for DD's First Communion last weekend! I could have shifted some. Mind you, I can guarantee you DH's grandparents would have never seen it before and would not be impressed.
The cake - what a joker, I bet sometimes you dread what you're going to find in the morning.
Sheila, I'll cook for you if you'll come and clean my house, I hate cleaning!

SDG - your gram flour ................... well groatiequeen gave me a 25kg bag when she moved so I have been experimenting.

If you cook it one third gram flour to two thirds water to a thick paste, cool and then add your usual hummus fixings - voila - super smooth hummus!!! Honestly ............. thought it was crazy but nope!!! so I figure I now have enough "hummus" for about, erm!!! Six years :rotfl:

The things you ladies inspire me to do!!!;)

In fact I am now scheming how to make falafel too - will report back tomorrow is they are successful / edible ...............

................ooh and soca ........... I am sure my rosemary is big enough to steal a few sprigs.

Back tomorrow when I have stopped stirring my cauldron.

I found a brillo pad (or a cheapy equivalant) worked really well on the glass doors. I think Kim and Aggie suggested using a paint scraper to do the job.

I enjoyed the salad leaves from the garden with beetroot, tomatoes, radishes and cucumber with marinated chicken I cooked yesterday and need to go to local butcher tomorrow morning before all the nice chicken and other stuff we like goes. It makes such a difference to cook meat that does not shrink or leak white watery liquid when cooking.

Think I saw some Astonish in Supersavers. They do a few products...

I have a northern Victorian terrace and was given a donkey stone as an (ironic) house warming gift by my late Nana! She probably knew I would never use it, please may I join in?? x
    :) Course you can, Malcolm.

I know someone who met the guy who played Malcolm in that Beechams Powders ad (I think it was that product) on the telly back in the day. Is that a slender claim to fame or what?

Mrs Chip, do they still make Ajax and Vim powders? Vivid memories of those tubular cardboard cans with the shaker holes in the lids. And I was trying to find Flash powder in a carton the other year and couldn't - is that defunct?

By eck, Flash powder dissolved in a bucket of piping hot water, now that was something with real cleaning power!

Have just done a load of dishes which were rather greasy so whilst I made my tea, I boiled the whole kettle and poured it down the sink with soda crystals. I spend a lot of time booking unblocks on interior plumbing on other people's homes so am a wee bit obsessive about not letting stuff go down mine.

Hokay, checklist; pot of tea (to left of monitor - check), chunk of YS Billionnaire's Cheescake (right of monitor - check). Cleared for takeoff.

Pls, no one post something blindingly funny in the next few mins as I will probably end up with a very messy keyboard if you do. GQ xx

Memory Girl, I'd be very interested in the falafel. I'm always on the lookout for a recipe where they stay quite soft, cos I don't enjoy them if they're too crispy and hard, and the children won't eat them like that.

Possession - try the A girl called Jack spicy carrot and bean burgers - the mix makes a nice soft paste that fries into a soft patty, and are yummy!
