Thanks Mrs C - that's tomorrow evening's supper sorted.
And yes Esther they did pay out! From what I remember it nicely covered the buffet and drinks after dad's funeral.0 -
That will teach me to put my glasses on. Yoghurt going to be ready at 1am  pity I haven't got a timer so it could switch itself off.
Gonna be a late night.

Adored catching up on the thread tonight. Welcome to all our new toughies!
There's a massive and bright moon tonight. I'm fascinated.
I will try the cream cleaner on the oven glass and if not go look for astonish.
While you've all chatted merrily I have finish crocheting my snood and begun a pink granny blanket for my niece. She's asked me to do her one after seeing DD's with flowers on the corner. Nothing like the feeling if making a gift that is appreciated.
The mint in the mushy peas went down a storm! Thanks for giving me the shove to do it MrsChip.
Don't worry about Lyn Sheila, she knows where we are0 -
Hello toughies, another mostly-lurker posting to join the shiny new thread - always reading along, sometimes missing a day or so but always with you in spirit.
Happy new thread to all, old, new and lurking.
Very tired, and off to bed with me. Hope the weather forecast for the weekend is wrong, it's dire and I need to do loads of washing!I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

evening toughies and a special welcome to all the new toughies today
Clearly I have missed loads today
Its been so busy I havent fully had time to catch up but I do feel I am making headway and finally achieving stuff. Still need to get a few more bits for the holiday and then we are done. So much happening this week though I really want to get it finished this weekend.
Does anyone have any experience of electric cool boxes? Ald! have one in at the moment and I am tempted - but my question is if I leave drinks in it all day with the engine off when we are on days out will it drain my car battery or will it just switch off and heat up?0 -
I;m sitting here crocheting a granny blanket Fuddle - in cream, grey and lilac Wilco yarn. One for me for winter, and then I will do one OH and might even do one for the cat - the yarn is so cheap!Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0

Popping in quickly while hubby gets tea. I couldn't face cooking sausages and so hubby said he'd do tea!
Before I forget, Nymphadora, I too had to give up work just over 2 years ago due to fibro. Looking back I must have had it since I was 18 which is 30 years now, but my old doctor kept saying it was all in my head. Looking back at my cv I have a pattern of working for a while and then having to have a career break to recover until just over 2 years ago when I couldn't cope even with working part time as a receptionist. Have you found that you can cope more now you are not working? It took me over a year to feel more 'like me' and being a patient with a new doctor who understands fibro.
Ooh, bewitched! I used to love that show.
Lovely to see your post Jackie, how is your daughter doing? I hope that she is not in such severe pain now.
Need to go as tea is ready.
Hi Peony40
Sorry to hear you have Fibro. I think I have had Fibro for 21 years but only diagnosed 6 years ago. It is easier not working (can go to my bed when I need to) but I am bored stupid at home. I am really hoping it doesn't flare up too much when I am back working.
It is just a horrible condition, on the outside I look really well but inside I am a mess. Problem is I don't let it show when I am in company. Plus the weather can make me feel awful
DH thinks it's mad that there isn't a day goes by when I am not in pain somewhere in my body but I have so long being in pain I sort of got used to it.0 -
Thanks everyone for the welcome.
I too use Astonish I think it is great and lasts for ages.
Well I am wide awake after sleeping this afternoon. Everyone is in bed and I am thinking of making myself a bacon sandwich0 -
