Kez - well done, if you dont stand up for your kids no one else will. If any animal is feeling so threatened they deserve a place that they feel safe and secure to wait out the visitors.0

thanks everyone
really appreciate all your assistance
i just feel sorry for the poor dog, he obviously wasn't happy but at the same time MIL should have made him feel safe and secure. Like i say he's a lovely dog when he's calm. But when he's not, well its a whole other story.
Other times when DS2 hasn't taken any toys with him instead he's just sat on the chair reading the book. The blumming dog still growls at him and anyone else in the room apart from MIL.
Maybe its just her animosity rubbing off on the dog so its growls at people. I've heard that happen before. The dog reacts protecting its owner, so being perfectly reasonable and doing what its supposed to do as it its natural response.
MIL obviously doesn't want us there, and last time we all saw her was during the summer holidays. When she said does anyone want to come and see the horses, ds2 jumped up all excited she just glared at him so angrily, it was awful. Poor thing just dived into my arms and wouldn't let go. She obviously just wanted OH to go with her . But he didn't he stayed and watched tv with us. This was after the dog incident.
Just went and picked a load of clothes for ds1 from a neighbour. So will get them washed tomorrowOH is feeling very jealous, so said he can have the leftovers that ds1 doesn't want :rotfl::rotfl:

evening guys bit of an update and catch up here.
kidcat-everyone makes mistakes and you have so much on your plate.
princess baba steps house overwhelms me at times.
thanks for relationship advice.
I just like to feel appreaciated by him and not taken for granted,
for him not to forget how hard being at home can be.
I sacraficed a job/career to raise our children and support his career development
His job made it hard for me to actaully get part time job which would love to do but childcare to pricy and no support structure .
Round here lots of mums work as have well paid part time jobs , wealthy husbands or family doing childcare.
Theres seems not much value in sahm these days discriminated in tax system, bashed on forums , not consdered by tories as hardworking and want to get on.
But childcare for 3 different ages is hard not even sure dd2 has a school place so maybe home educating.
I have no hobbies raly see my mates and have no backup if im ill o one to pick up kids from school if im late or ill that feels scary and if im ill i still have to get on with things some days feel under immense pressure that everythings down to me.

Some decent sausages to make sausage casserole.

Some iceream to go with crumble-free apples.
some golden strup make cherry flapkjacks with free cherries.
enough cereal and crumpets until ext pay day so breckfasts are sorted.
Hubby went on reduced run later did sainsburys, co-op tesco metrol and morries no reductions at all today.

got given free slow cooker last week.
no instructions.
have 2pork streaks defrosted.
if cut them up put in slow cooker with casserole mix and veg

Hi GAILEY, well done on your shopping trip. Yes, frozen leeks are great for leek and potato soup. I make loads of soup with frozen veg. So much cheaper than using fresh.

It snowed all night. We were able to check on it from one of the patient's rooms. The roads were a mess coming home. I live in a place where there is snow on the ground 6 months of the year and for some reason people forget how to drive in it.
Sons are cooking supper. Pot roast. They even hovered.
I got 5 hours sleep today so life isn't that bad. Now, if I could just rain the husband to leave me alone when I come home after night shift. I just want to sleep when I get into bed, not spend "quality" time.0 -
Where do you live Wonder?
Morning all
Blimey, what a wet and wild night. I've not heard rain like that for ages. It's still throwing itself against the windows now. DD1 has her coursework deadline today so typically has a couple of large sketch pads and a final piece to get to college via 3 buses. Think we might need to bypass a couple of the buses and deliver her to the last one so it has a chance of keeping her work dry.
Need to pop into town for some bits and bobs, ran out of matches and lighter fluid last night so couldn't light my candles!!and want to pick up another frozen turkey crown whilst I can still find them. I'm also craving some chestnuts but haven't see them in the shops yet.
Kittens are running around like loons, they always get like this when it's windy, they're doing circuits of the house and taking it in turns to hide under the curtains and attack each other. Lots of skiddy paws and murrrps!"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
M0rrisons seems to attract thieves - I had my beautiful, brightly coloured walking stick stolen out of my trolley when shopping in there. I mean who would steal a walking stick?
We are recovering from the fireworks. My husband had to stop me wobbling round to my neighbours to shove the remains of two huge rockets I found on my doorstep and the bag of doggy poo that poor Poppy did whilst salivating and shivering when said rockets went off:mad::mad::mad:I must not fear. Morning all.
Hope everyone had a lovely weekend.
Still feeling really rough. But, Needs is must and I cannot bare to look at this house anymore.
Busy week ahead, Starting with dentist with OH this evening.
Back at my support appointment weds -
Doctors for me Thursday. Its all coming at once.
I know for many that sounds like an easy day - But for me with a fear of heading out, Its a total nightmare.
I also need to speak to the council this morning to arrange final payment for our outstanding debt. Its amazing to think it wasn't long ago when I found this group and the people in it. You all supported us through our hard time and gave sound advice. Now, We're starting to benefit from listening. So thank you!! xxFuture goals:
Become debt free.
Beat Depression.
Be happy & healthy0 -
Morning all,
Its the start of a busy week for me and reading through it seems many of you as well.
I've been feeling a bit down and on edge lately, lots of little things going on, none of them unmanageable, but they do build up. So, I'm just popping in to talk about the positives. House is all clean and tidy and we've lovely healthy food in the kitchen. Last night I made a leek and cheese pie--closer to a quiche but without eggs and a shdredded cabbage, carrot and ginger salad. Also have an apple loaf cake. Tonight is stuffed peppers with a tangy cous cous and black bean filling since peppers were on super 6, as well as any of the salad that is left. If OH still has holes in his boots after football training there is peanut butter and fruit. I've pre-made my post-gym snack for today--hummus and veggie sticks and have treated myself to some oatcakes at Ald!. I always make sure OH has snacks to take to work but don't sort out the same for myself so I made it a point this week.
The house is warm, much warmer than where we were living last year--I can get by with socks and slippers and a fleece here! I've tidied my work space and am ready to get on with it today.
I've set myself some goals for looking after myself this week. Haven't been doing such a great job. The snacks, the gym, and a bit of time each afternoon, 15 minutes or so to sit next to the window.
Hugs to those who need them. Good luck to Fuddle and Monnagran with their transitional times this week. Good luck to you, Princess--be brave, we'll all be rooting for you! Bit hugs to Gailey, Kezlou, Stiltwalker, Ginny, Pink and Shegar. To those of you recently victims of theft...grrrrr:mad: And, Pooky, I do so love to hear about the kittens. We're hoping to get one in the near future. I've been looking at them online for weeks, but OH things we have too much on at the moment. I know if I show him enough pictures he'll be won over!:rotfl:0 -
Fairy P - show him the pic I've just put on my blog....;)
We've been asked to take in a new kitten but I really can't justify it at the moment, she's 5 months old and has had a terrible start to life. She's been very poorly with worms and hasn't been "done". As much as I want to help I can't afford more vets bills."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0
