Many thanks, that's fine. Best keep mum and all that. Not aware that anyone who knows me IRL knows me on here but one can't be too careful.
Been to naming. Was lovely, and the very best thing was that Winie the Pooh was already there, AA Milne quoted on the slips left lying around for us to write comments to baby, on balloons, on the Banner...so my gift should fit right in;)Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Afternoon All!
Just popping in before we go out to do a session up at the camp.
Welcome Kittie and Parsnip - please don't whatever you do think what you have to say is not interesting, I constantly wonder if anyone would be interested in my ramblings, but I post anyway!
I have been fiddling about with beads the last few days, I used to make jewellery for myself but went to a demo on Monday and it rekindled my brain to get all the stuff out. I have made a few necklets from beads and semi precious stones I had from before and now wonder whether I could sell them. I don't think I can be fagged with selling online, so hoping to just use word of mouth at the campsite and with some of the people OH deal with at (W as was )RVS. We get very long dark winters here and it is a perfect activity for those wintry nights!
Weather here is being fickle - warmish then cool, then wet then sunny and hot. Really hard to decide what to eat and do as it can change from one minute to the next . I got a big joint of pork out to have a roast tomorrow as it was supposed to be cold but now it's all clammy and not roast dinner weather :mad::mad:. Oh well, OH will eat roast whatever, I'm happy to have my roast pork with salad:D.
Hope everyone has a nice weekend, whatever the weather!Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
I freeze mine in old squash bottles then let thaw out overnight in the fridge.

I am so jealous as I would have loved a Silver Cross dolls pram. Preferably a twin one. I have told the family that even at my age, if I ever win big money I will treat myself. I was a deprived child
Myself and my sister had a twin one it was in teal green, we also had new twin baby dolls that year, and my Primary school teacher's mother made outfits for both dolls before and after that Christmas.
We also had the fake Sindy dolls and mum and Nan used to knit all the clothes for them.My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
So we’re empty nesters.
Daughter married with 3 boys (12, 9 & 5).
My mother always served up leftovers we never knew what the original meal was. - Tracey Ulman0 -

I am planning on having a couple of garden parties for my 2 sons over the 6 weeks hols as I thought it might entertain them and be cheapy cheap.
I have some rolls of crepe paper so will be making streamer-like thingies taped onto the top of garden canes to give the kids to play with and decorate the garden / gazebo- weather permitting lol, sandwiches and cakes to pick at washed down with fizzy pop.
We did this in 1977 for the silver jubilee and had loads of fun.

Hi, on the subject of liver
DH and I both like liver and onions but sometimes I make what is known in our house as "that faggoty thing". I mince (or food process) up the liver, about 3 or 4 rashers of bacon, a couple of slices of bread, an onion and a dash of pepper. Mix it up well, into an ovenproof dish and in the oven for about 40 minutes at 180C. Don't mince it down too fine, it's better with a bit of texture. The mixture takes away the liveriness. You can freeze it cooked too and I just reheat it in the microwave when it's defrosted.
Back when I was young (I'm 60 now) I remember getting faggot packs from the butcher that you had to mince up at home and then make into little parcels wrapped up in caul. It was years before I knew that "lights" were lungs. Sometimes it's better when you don't know what everything is.....0 -
DH took DD for a driving lesson this morning and someone drove into the back of the car while they were at a roundabout
Fortunately nobody is hurt but we need to pay for the repair then claim it back from insurance so hassle we could do without - just glad it was not worse.
Had to do some shopping on foot so just got some milk and veg rather than getting all the fruit etc that I had wanted and made a quick stir fry with veg and cold meat I had in fridge.
Pizza is whirring away in the breadmaker ready to be assembled and put in the oven later and had a nice shower and shampoo after lugging shopping home so feel more relaxed.

That sounds like one I could try thanks...agree with your last point too.
I mean, how naive as a youngster was I not to think tongue was...er, tongue...:p:o:rotfl:
Elona, as you say glad no one was hurt, hope it doesn't dent DD's confidence."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson
