burtha I am so glad the news was better than expected. The fear is often worse than knowing. I hope all goes well now.0

FLOSS: All done and dusted by January so not much time at all. However, we don't move until end of July. We are going through all this but there is still a great campaign to keep us on the Island. We'll just take what comes.
Suzi: It's fun these DIY weddings. Far more memorable than those that come off the production line and cost thousands.
Kidcat: Sorry to hear about your poorly chest. Hope something gets sorted soon.
As far as the manse is concerned I could tolerate a busy, rather attractive untidiness but this is just messy and not attractive at all. No. Something must be done I'm afraid.
And as for you, Cranky, Greenbee, Elona et al you are pure evil, the lot of you. Much though I love your suggestions and would enjoy putting them into practice, I fear that leaving the manse as it stands at the moment would be far more of a deterrent. Anyway, I am safe in the knowledge that no-one in their right minds would fork out the iniquitous cost of a ferry ticket if they absolutely didn't have to. So I won't be baking a cake in anticipation of unexpected visitors.
Yah, Yah de Yah, Yah.

Just seen your post burtha. What a relief. It's the not knowing that's the hardest bit. Lots of love.I believe that friends are quiet angels

What lovely news to come into, as you say, it seems strange to say that about such a thing. I hope you can go to bed in a much happier frame of mind and get some deserved sleep which I suspect has been difficult for these past few weeks.

So glad for you that it's 'good' bad news if that doesn't sound too backwards.
Will keep you in my prayers.0 -
BURTHA that is about as good as news gets pet, it doesn't make the problem go away but reduces it to copeable proportions and hopefully takes away the fear of the unknown that has been with you for the past few weeks. Advances are being made in medicine all the time and who knows what new treatments will be available in the coming years that will benefit you with your condition? I should think your family will be emotional now and they'll need extra hugs as the relief hits them. Hope you can get some pain relief for your headaches that works and that you will rapidly come to terms with what has happened, you've been so dignified and buoyant about the whole thing you are a complete star pet, it's a real pleasure to have you on the thread, good girl, Love Lyn xxx.0

BURTHA better news than I am sure you could have hoped for. Yes there is still a problem but as Mrs LW says medical science is moving all the time, and you are now being monitored closely, so hopefully you can get back to some normality.
You will still be in my thoughts so I send gentle hugs to you and your family.

Thank god for MRI scans eh Burtha? Imagine how it used to be, with the fear there always and no way of finding the exact cause.. xxx0

Morning all, tis very foggy here this morning and the car said it was 4 degrees. Im glad we know the outcome from burtha, it sounds a little more positive - and hopefully in 6months things are much the same.
Not sure what I should do today, I have work at 4 so I think a relaxing day is in order. I managed to get all the housework done yesterday so nothing much to catch up on.
take care xBSC member 137

BurthaI would say lovely news, but of course it is still frightening---but much more manageable. I hope treatment isn't needed for a few more checks yet and if and when it is needed that everything goes smoothly. I can understand totally your going to the PTA meeting. Whenever I have a worry I like best to keep to routine as much as possible. Helps me remember all that is still normal.
Monnagran Good luck with the tidying. Still, it is all a representation of all that you both do for the community and anyone who turned their nose up at it, in my view, wouldn't make a very good prospective replacement for the rev.
Kidcat I totally agree about the television. I watch a number of programmes about the benefits system, mainly because I don't know much about how social programmes work in the UK. They almost never seem ready to talk about people in need but want to focus on the very small number who abuse the system. Penny for penny and pound for pound I'd far rather the government saved money by reigning in tax evaders than a few measly people who try to take advantage of the benefits system--and this way it won't be cracking down on people in genuine need! Unfortunately the government has yet to ask my opinion.:rotfl:
Well, I feel pretty rotten today. Cold is in full force and I didn't sleep well last night. I had a strange sort of belly ache and was worried it was appendicitis. Its all gone this morning, and never got severe so no worries about that (please tell me I'm not the only one who can get worked up over little things in the night).:o However, since I've got loads on Thurs and Fri. I've decided to treat myself to a work from bed day. I've fetched the laptop and my clipboard and will go down for a cup of hot lemon and honey in a bit. Hopefully being warm and rested will mean I'm feeling better by tomorrow. Although, honestly, I'm about ready to try some of those old fashioned remedies we were talking about yesterday--a smelly sock, you say, Lyn? I'm sure OH has left one of his football socks lying around somewhere.:rotfl:0
