Did the ultimate pennypinch today. We had a funeral to go to and was quoted £60 for a spray  Went to Mr t and bought £20 of flowers, made spray, have 5 roses on my mantel and made a pretty bouquet for Mum too. Luckily I am quite good at flowers and had ribbon and cellophane. I know florists have big overheads but flippin heck they get flowers in bulk.
Drove 20 miles to crematorium in the middle of nowhere only to find 300 people there, no room for us inside and it began to rain, so we paid our respects and left. Oh well at least we went, met old friends, represented the cricket league but boy did I need a cuppa.
Off to Newcastle tomorrow and am so loooking forward to it. beamish here we come :jClearing the junk to travel light

I've found you, I've found you!! :j
Thank you fuddle for re-making this thread. I used to be a member of the workhouse thread when I first joined MSE 2years ago and I miss advice on crafting, preserving and foraging. I am still so new to it all.
So hello everyone, I am joining you. My name is Suzi and I consider myself to be a bit of a hippy who sometimes struggles to live in this commercial world we call home.
I am getting married next year and any frugal suggestions from anyone would also be very welcome :-D
It's lovely to be back!
Hi Suzi - lovely to see you again.
Search for the wind and the wellies blog - she is getting married soon - in a wood. Has some good ideas
Burtha - Best wishes to you for tomorrow
