Hi all. Its been a lousy weekend. I had fairly big rejection come through on something I've been working on for the better part of 10 months. It was at the last turn. However, it isn't the end, just means a tweak and a couple of days work to get it out again. I have lots of people supporting me and they all know their stuff and have re-assured me that my work is good quality and it will find acceptance. It does sting, and its even worse as one of the rejections spent almost a paragraph telling me off for submitting in the format that is required. I don't have the satisfaction of a reply and it wouldn't be professional anyway, but it would have been nice if he'd been told to stick to commenting on the work and not on my following of policy. Hey ho. All part of the game I signed up for.
That is why I haven't been in this weekend though, or this morning. Although I'm proud of myself for being resilient, I did just not feel like I had anything positive to say to anyone as staying positive for me was taking everything I had.
In the mean time, I've got a nasty cold and plumbers in and out again. However, I did make a nice big homemade crumble and some HM custard last night and there is some of that leftover---do any of you know if it is ok to re-heat HM custard? I'm worried it will go lumpy. I use the Delia recipe if that matters:o
Princess, Gailey and Nutty--just want to give you all a hug and say how proud I am for all three of you. Your posts this weekend have all shown remarkable strength and getting on with it spirit.
Fuddle--ooh, I'm so excited I can hardly bear it. I know its still awhile off but I can't wait to hear about you settling in.
Burtha, my thoughts are with you between now and tomorrow. I will be hoping for the best news possible, a caring and competent doctor, a loving and supportive family and a strong and resilient you throughout whatever is to come.0 -
Princess I wouldn't boil your custard, just warm it through and ir should be fine. If there is enough for tomorrow, just warm up todays servings0

Thanks Floss--afraid it will all be gone tonight--but I do have more cream;)0

Gailey,
I have a very old saying...let go and let god.
The thing I take from that is that I can't control everything, and indeed it isn't right for me to do so.
I let things happen, I do plan for some stuff, bills meals, the daily flippin gring! lol., but some issues seem to find their own way of working out, not always the way I would have liked, but I work on accepting the outcome with as much peace as I can.
I too am a devout coward when it comes to the dentist, but many of them are very clued up with regard to nervous patients now and it might be helpful to have a long chat with him/her about it.
My youngest DD is also scared witless by it, but our lovely dentist allows her to have her headphones in playing very loud music to help her.
Can't say that maximum volume rock would help me much though!!!
Take care hon and keep going, let go and let god!0
