Catching up...I do a good deed for someone and end up feeling shattered and approx £12 out of pocket.

I usually managed to put up a small snack or wait until I come home...but my aquaintance likes a meal...and its hard for me not to have one with him...it nearly cost £16 for fish, chips and a cup of tea. Managed to walk out and go to BHS and get the same meal down to £8(I still did not like spending that)

And I was so tired after the walking and bus rides I decided I had to get a taxi to home so still spent another £3. Now I will have to save up until I get that back in some way.

It was an early day and I had to have a flu jab at the Dr's surgery and they decided to give me one for protection against pneunonia.

Then I was off to take photo's of my colleague driving a train at a local museum ending up in Durham watching a re-enactment society dressed as knights. But as I said I would have paced myself, sat a lot, perhaps come home earlier, not had a meal and avoided walking as much.

But its over now and I am going nowhere for at least the next 25 hours, I am already laid on my bed taking it easy and I could very well doze off...

  • The talk about depression has inspired me to post again after a long break. My eldest daughter (19 next week) suffers terribly with depression. Unfortunately we the rest of her family suffer too. Not with depression but because of it. She frequently decides not to take her meds because in her eyes, if she doesnt take meds, then she isnt ill. This then leads to crazy times when we all feel as if we are walking on broken glass, hot coals and that swimming in shark infested waters would be safer! In the latest period in this last month, she kicked my 16yr old in the knee causing grade 2 ligament damage. She then went home and self harmed with a sharp knife and accused 16yr old of throwing the knife! Luckily, my other children were there as witness that she was lieing. I had gone out for a rare evening with friends buti wont be doing that again in a hurry.
She is currently going to several therapy sessions a week and back on the meds (thank goodness)
Life is no fun at all lately and i spend a lot of time crying but i keep going because thats what i need to do for all of my children as well as myself.

Oh sevenup, that is really tough. The terrible thing is that no-one can actually do much to help.
I've lived with a teenage son who was not depressed (at least I don't think so) but seemed to be intent on doing everything he could to break me and the rest of the family. Life is almost intolerable isn't it? The sick feeling in your stomach never seems to go away. I was a single Mum and found life very hard for some years.
All I can say is that it does get better as they grow up and learn to take responsibility for themselves. I sometimes think that nature plays a cruel trick on us when it delivers those cuddly, smiley little bundles. And then they grow up. Obviously you have other children who are not like that, so you know it's nothing that you have done.

My heart goes out to you, I can really feel for you.

    Thanks...I've already slept a fair bit:p

I wonder if I can win back what I spent with a game of bingo...that would have paid for a few of my nights out over coming weeks.

They said the pneunonia jab is a one off and offers protection to 20+ strains of it:)The surgery opened at 9am and already had a queue around the block and two Dr's/two Nurses working flat out. Receptionist taking details got my DOB wrong three times before getting it correct managing to add twenty years to my age which made me 75:rotfl:

Do I really look that old?

Oh sevenup01:(I hope things come right as soon as possibly, hugs sent your way.

That necklace is great Kate! I have got a bead board but find it more trouble than it's worth for the sort of things I make - but the indents are a handy place to put any of the beads I pick up off the floor, until I can be bothered to put them back in the right pot (there are a lot) :rotfl:.

Got back from Malvern at 9pm, it was a long and tiring day. Was a great show though, a very good mix of stuff indeed. Animals, some fab veg in the show tents, wonderful old steam things that do all sorts, and super vintage caravans, all kitted out to match the time they were built - 30s, 40s 50s, brilliant. If anyone is interested I can post some pics. I would recommend to anyone who likes that sort of thing, it is they best one of that type I have been too.

Saw some jewellery to die for, really lovely stuff, collected a lot of cards so I can look at their stuff online, out of my league both money-wise and making-wise, but lots of inspiration.

  • have been having a read back. Not a snowball in hell's chance of catching up though. Hello to everyone xxx long time no see.

two posts really caught my eye, princess (I think it was you) really well done on getting to your appointment, and the other was about worrying about appearances. I confess, I'm a scruff. Mum once said (as a compliment would you believe, lol) that I always look like I've been dressed straight from the jumble sale. DH has ceased to comment!

In 'other news' it's my last day in work on Monday. I am going full time with the childminding nearly 2 years after first registering. It's taken me ages to fill places, but now I have I'm having to turn people away :D I'm really looking forward to it, just not the paperwork side of things.

I've been lay on the floor on playing on the laptop this evening and the biggest hairiest 8 legged monster ran over my bare leg. the cat sat up and barked at it then lay back down.

I'm sat here now with a rounders bat next to me jumping at every noise after problems with a neighbour. have been fine for a couple of nights with DH home but he's back in work tonight :(

and finally. DH has a date for his preop for a hip replacement, next month. hopefully when it's done I'll have the man back that I married and not the tired, grumpy, zombie like, wracked with pain shell of a man that I'm living with right now. arthritis it a horrible thing and I wish I could take on his pain for a while to give him a break.

I do keep on intending to post more and not just keep dipping and out, but I know most of you understand x lots of love to all of you lovely people xxx
