How does anyone from here find peeps on Facebook - I only have Mardywotsit as a friend from here :(.

Err, just read that back, I don't mean that I don't like having Mar as a friend (quite the opposite), just sorry she's the only one ! Well I know what I mean... I think.:rotfl:

We've just added each other after chatting via PM - there's no specific group over there that I know of.

ETA - sent you a PM Mrs Chip :)

Byatt sends her regards and says she's well.

    Morning All

Last day of the meteorological summer today, and it certainly feels autumnal here. Sunny but the air is cool and it just feels different. I like autumn so looking forward to it.

Life goes on here as usual here, not a lot to report. Nearing the end of the season and will be happy when we get to the end of September ( there comes a point when you have seen enough chips to last a lifetime!).

Does anyone know where Kidcat is? Hope all is ok with her, I am missing hearing about her life, so different to ours. Also she was in touch with Byatt, I would like to know how things are with her. lots of the old thread peeps seem to have gone... nice to have a new lot of friends, but I do miss some of the oldies!

We seem to have lost a lot of our original posters, pity , I do miss reading although I dont always post or reply............I dont know anyone on here that are on FB, would also love to find people..........

Its been beautiful here , next week will be 24 and 25 degrees again all week:D, im loving all this hot dry weather , washing drying in couple hours........

Well done MARDATHER, out on that bike , love it, I miss my bike now im feeling better, think of it everyday, but wont be buying one cos cant leave hubby alone for no more that 30 mins..........We use to ride together before his stroke, that will never happen again.......Ive been outside all day , doing some odd jobs in the garden......

I did paint the the summer house, its a lovely green glade, by Dulux weathershield, certaintly looks a lot better, it was drying so quick with the sun on it............Just had shower and sitting on butt,...Sheila

    Good evening everyone :)

We're home after a lovely holiday. The weather has been really kind to us. We managed to do the frugal holiday thing with ease only having strawberry ice cream for kids treat and clotted cream scones for ours. We had chips for lunch. We had the fire basket every night so toasted marshmallows were a nightly occurrence. The girls had the freedom of the field next to us where there were permanently hitched to the tyre swings. They made some friends as did we. A really lovely holiday.

I took a fall down Durdle Door and ended up seeking help - I have housewive's knee. Need ice packs and support bandage to help with the swelling.

I adore Dorset and are itching to get down there. It's all up to DH's work now. We wont know anything till 9th Sept when his boss is back from her holidays.

Girls at school on Tuesday so getting my head into new term and autumn.

Also arrived home to an email confirming the start of my course in health sector - level 2 so will begin tomorrow.

I'm on Facebook ill pm you both tomorrow incase you would like add me :)

Another beautiful day here as well. Fuddle has a lovely day for her drive back and Mrs LW has a gorgeous day for the wedding. It's a pity we don't know in advance what sort of summer it would be. We could really make plans then. I don't feel that I've made the most of it.

Well, I finished the church magazine at about 4.00am but haven't been able to print it yet as the church all-singing all-dancing copier is creasing up the paper as it goes through. The Rev has just gone round to see if it's working again.

By the way, I made the lemon curd cake yesterday as I felt the Rev needed a treat. She LOVED it and said to say thank you to whoever gave us the recipe. Who was that? Anyway, you have made a depressed vicar very happy.

Tomorrow my DS and DIL2B are both taking my DG back to the mainland after having had him for the holidays. He has come on in leaps and bounds since he has been over here, but then he always does. They are going to have a chat with his Mum and sounding out the possibility of having him come to live with them. I can't think that that it will make a lot of difference to her. She works full time and DGS goes to his other grandparents after school, who just park him in front of the TV. So basically she puts him to bed and gets him up in the morning. However, I know she will resent not having the child maintence or the child benefit. I can't think why because she and her husband both work full time and they are both on good incomes, and they have no other children. I am keeping my fingers crossed because it would be marvellous for him.

Right. September is going to be a really scrimpy month. Not quite as scrimpy as intended however as my mobile has just died!

Welcome home sweetie. We'll hear all about it in due course. Have a good sleep in your own bed. x
