I'm sorry i just have to come back on, i always say its not the dogs its the owners. A dog needs to boundaries etc and if the owner doesn't teach they dog properly then its they fault. Not the dog.
Staffies are really sift, its just ignorant swines badly treating them.
Called my friend earlier, shes a in a state, so i've invited her and the her children over to stay for the night. Kind of like indoor camping. They great kids and were here last night till about 10.
She's having a rough time at the moment, so it will be good to have company as well.
So fingers crossed all goes well and should be fun.
she's even thinking of moving over our area, as the liked the way it was set out. The kids outside were friendly and invited her eldest was outside with my two playing cricket.
I know its sounds silly but i'm so nervous, i haven't been out today.I can't face the world and need to chill before going out tonight. Knowing me i'll be back 9! My anxiety is all over theplace.
LA phoned me asking asking how i am, i lied and i'm fine. She went no your not. you will be fine D isn't going to be there. she doesn't even know its on so stop being anxious, you'll be with me.
Just hard getting out of this frame of mind.0 -
Thats nice to hear Mrs LW. I guess that she has a good rapport with kids and what makes her a good teacher.
Sorry to hear about Poppy Dog - if anyone hit my dogs
Salivating at the thought of all that yummy camping food. I used to take 2 x 4 pints of semi milk frozen and let that thaw and also a huge frozen chill or bol and that would be defrosted in time for tea.I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
KEZ lovely, you really are a good person, in the very real meaning of the word good! You are the good samaritan to all your aquaintance when they need help, there aren't many as generous in this world, bless you, and thank you, Love Lyn xxx.0

Hi MOLLY, How's Mr Molly today, hope he got some sleep last night, so funny!!! Hope you're having a good day and that your DS got the grades he needed for his future from yesterdays results. DD loves the job, not the stresses that sometimes go with it, but the young people she teaches get on with her very well, she's an outdoorsy person and runs D of E and is always up for a challenge and also always finds time to listen to them in happiness or problems, she's a nice woman and they seem to like her, I know I do but I admit to being a little biased! Take care of yourself pet, Cheers Lyn xxx.0

Kez, I hope everything goes well with your friend, It seems many of us at the moment are suffering one way or another. Hopefully you’ll start to feel calm and more relaxed shortly. Maybe a nice cuppa?
I pride myself with poppy on making her a very social dog. We have another staffy x who was an abused case. He is the opposite of friendly, But because of this, We work with him. He goes out on selected walks where we know that everyone around him, Inc us will be safe. He is lead walked and we carry a muzzle every time.
What concerned me and the other walkers passing by, Was that there wasn’t no ill intent from any of the dogs. They was all playing nicely. The women in question dog was slightly snappy with the bigger dogs, But was fine with poppy. This was completely out of the blue. Like I’ve always done, If I see someone in the distance with their pooch on the lead, Poppy goes on, If I understand someone is worried about dogs, She is on the lead. I never ever put my dogs at risk of hurting themselves, Let alone anyone else.
I am a firm staffy fan, Like many have said in the past, Its owners not pooches. If you treated a child badly, You have to expect some sort of fall out whilst their in that situation. I think nowadays so many people are uneducated and quick to jump.
When poppy was attacked as a pup (couple months old) By two labs I never judge the dogs, In fact, The owner got a mouthful as he didn’t seem to care where his dogs was.
Fuddle? I believe you added a picture of some apple’s the other day? I was wondering if you managed to pluck a few and have tried them? Only on our walk today OH made a list of fruit that was down there. I’m pretty sure the same apples was there. I don’t want to pick and waste, So I was wondering if you had cooked with them? Their was also blueberries but I’m a little concerned about picking them incase its something else.Future goals:
Become debt free.
Beat Depression.
Be happy & healthy0 -
Kez, deep breaths, it will all be fine! Big hugs, you're so brave facing your anxieties like this! And, what a wonderful friend you are!
MrsLW, your daughter sounds like an inspiration to us all, really showing youngsters the richness of life--they are lucky to have her as a teacher. It is a tough job, and I don't think for a second the conditions we put on teachers make it easy to do such a good job--but it sounds like she is getting some really lovely rewards from it.
I've finished my work for today so I think I'm off to clear out some drawers. Much of it was just dumped in when we moved in--and it needs taking out, sorting, refolding and putting away neatly.0 -
Not yet princess. They look like they are turning red so going to give them a few more days before I pick.0

So we popped to the vets, took a long walk down and during our way we met fellow dog walkers along the trail. We then approached a local dog spot and poppy was off the lead along with many others when a women (Who‘s dog) Was also off the lead approached pops and they started sniffing doing the usual doggy stuff. The women the decided to start screaming & beating poppy. She was kicking, Punching - Hitting her with a plastic lead. Resulting in poppy cowering & yelping.
I ran and grabbed poppy and the women ran off with her dog. I never got the chance to say or do anything. (TBH the way I‘m feeling now with all my Cr8p) I could have really hurt her. Luckily the vet was understanding to us being slightly late and offered to check her over for free. (Poppy was lifting her front leg) It seems she’s got mussels bruising. Poppy is now being running scared when other people bend down to touch her. Hopefully there’s no lasting damage but I will be reporting her to the local dog warden.
OH said he heard the women shout F*cking staffies before she started hitting poppy.
On the plus side, She’s happy, healthy and boosted up for another year.
OH never received his weekly wage today. OH boss jetted off yesterday and assured him that this week wage would be in today. However it hasn’t. Little pee’d off, But until the weekdays I cant do much really.
Off to do some washing as its finally sunny here now. xx
Poor Poppy, hope she recovers quickly. the Labradors send their luv and lots of drool!0 -
Afternoon all,
goodness shegar, you've been busy lately, woman on a mission! Long may your energy continue, great to hear you sounding so happy!
Lovely to hear what your DD's friend's kids said about her Mrs LW- 1st on the party invite list awww, so lovely.
Kez- hope you are feeling calmer, sometimes I find it helps to hide myself away for a mins in the bedroom and get under the covers and have a little chill out or even a snoozet.
nlj520 - I loved what you said about your son "he works very hard at mastering life skills and I am very proud of his achievements 'cos they are so hard won". Good on him and good on you.
Princess - so sorry to hear to hear about your dog's awful experience, how dare that woman do that to poppy? Hope she is ok now and you too.
I am not a dog person (cats are my thang) and have to confess am nervous around any potentially dangerous dogs that I don't know. I know two separate people who have had been attacked by dogs and left with nasty scars so that's why I am wary of dogs I don't know. However I know it is down to the owner not the dog who is responsible for care and training etc. I would never hurt any dog or other animal for any reason, unless it was the unlikely situation of having to defend myself, my children, cats or similar. Its the same for most things though isn't, most people are basically decent folk, just a small minority who make life unpleasant, difficult or worse for everyone else.
Loving all the camping food ideas. We may go camping next year, been talking about it for ages. DH still not 100% convinced about the idea, thinks I will be a nightmare camping! True I have no idea about camping but really I can learn. The only thing I said was about getting wet if it rains and sitting about in damp clothing. Also we have no tent or equipment but we may be able to borrow those from friends to see if we like it before we bought our own. I was thinking of just going for a weekend next spring (late spring) to see how we get on. In the meantime I am going to collate all the recipes, I am rubbish at getting recipes organised, I have random docs on the lappy and handwritten envelopes and no system.

we love camping, my boys love the freedom of being able to wander and run around.
We've been planning to go camping, but everytime we have the place gets flooded out!!! Think its a sign lol
SQ we have three cats, but i've grown up with dogs.
I've also been attacked by Alsations, Doberman and collies. Sounds awful but i'm still scared of those breeds. Even though i know that they fine. I would always give them a stroke and play weith them, its just me being wary.
Having a cuppa to try and calm down0
