Nuttyp Just wanted to say when you go to Disney have a look out for the Dollar stores. Fantastic to browse in and have great bargains for crafts and home stuff. Really cheap. I think there is also a food version which we didnt visit. Make sure you take advantage of all the coupons available for cheap meals in the restaurants as well. It was my holiday of a lifetime a few years ago and I loved it. Never thought I would go there.

Been trying to catch up by reading the thread a bit more. Congratualtions to all with exam results that show the young people worked as hard as they could. Don't think we can ask any more from our young people. My son is never going to pass an exam in his life, but he works very hard at mastering life skills and I am very proud of his achievements 'cos they are so hard won.

BBQ was not as bad as it could have been, but still rather more eventful than we would have liked. Weather was good and food was lovely, but my poor son get very stressed and was very challenging. He only hurt himself, but as his mum I would prefer it if he hurt me, to be honest. Food and drinks went flying too which was a bit stressful. We calmed him down with a nice bubble bath and then I slept on the floor next to his bed. He slept well, but was still challenging this morning. I gave him another bath and when he indicated he wanted to go out left him with his support heading to the car. A long, long walk often calms him down and he has music therapy this afternoon which always helps him to get stuff out of his system. It left me a bit of a jibbering wreck as it brought back memories of when he lived with me (until he was 15). However I am really keen on weight training and had a session booked so headed off to that and it really got me sorted out. All that adrenalin and stress meant I set a new personal best and I feel much better. Will phone later to make sure he is OK.

    Hopefully a quiet weekend..................

cbsexec I googled dollar tree and its a bargan store alright!! That is one to add to my list!! It doesn't look like we will much to spend while we are there.

I just washed the nets from the back windows and im ashamed to say they were filthy. I have the windows wide open, and they were very dusty. All soaked and then washed now. Just waiting for them to dry a bit now.

    Seconded!

Fuddle, what about foil packet dinners? there are so many variations on these-- I'm thinking potatoes and sausages, but obviously whatever you and yours are likely to enjoy. Another idea is what in the US we call a weanie roast--meaning hot dogs cooked over a campfire marshmallow style on sticks. Not the healthiest, but once in awhile I don't think will harm and I always remember it being fun, singing songs, telling stories and cooking our dinner together.

STRESSEDOUTMUM: Just want to agree with everyone else. Your DS will be potty trained completely when he is ready. I know it's hard when your sister is going on but try and be strong and ignore her. My DS wouldn't use potty other than wee for a long time and I was despairing. Mum and MIL would say he'll do it in his own time and won't still use a nappy at 21 but I was convinced that he would never use the toilet. He always hung on until we put a Nappy on, then would do what he had to do and we would change him and put him to bed. I think the security of the nappy had something to do with it. Anyway, one day when he was running around with nothing on his bottom half - not sure why - he had an accident and poohed. Sorry too much information but didnt want you to think it was a falling kind of accident. At the time I was really upset, but that seemed to break the cycle. After that he would use a toilet seat over the toilet. Anyway, all that to say, DON'T BE BOTHERED BY WHAT ANYONE ELSE SAYS. Ten years from now, will it matter? Will it heck! God bless. Esther x

  • FUDDLE if you have a firepit I'm going to make you the proud posessor of a very very naughty recipe for 'somores'. You will need the cheapest of economy digestive biscuits, a pack of big round marshmallows and some chocolate spread and a couple of sticks. Spread your digestives with the chocolate spread, toast your marshmallows on your sticks over the firepit and then pop a marshmallow on one chocolated side of a digestive and squish it with the chocolate covered side of another digestive. It's sticky icky deliciousness and the girls will love them, you and OH might even find them OK as well? Take washing gear though, you'll nead it as you get covered but it's worth it!!! Cheers Lyn xxx.

    jam bars

    192 g self raising flour
    120 oats
    220g brown sugar
    396g grams of butter
    1 jar of jam.

Mix all the ingredients in except the jam.
    the jam.
Once blended together. Place oat mixture on a tray. Then add the jam and the remaining oat mixture on top.

Bake on oven on gas mark 4 till golden brown. Then take out and leave to cool completely.
As the recipe didn't quite work out i would serve it hot with custard.
Or just eat it cold as is.

    Its really nice though :)
  • OOH, Lyn, confession time! Last spring when everything in the house seemed to be falling apart, and spring seemed like it would never happy I got a little nostalgic for our old camping trips every spring when I was young. I went out and bought a packet of plain chocolate digestives and some marshmallows. I toasted them over candles. Can't say it did my health any good, but a couple of days of having one of those as a snack certainly cheered me up!:D Don't worry, my diet went right back to sensible after that.
  • Afternoon all.

So we popped to the vets, took a long walk down and during our way we met fellow dog walkers along the trail. We then approached a local dog spot and poppy was off the lead along with many others when a women (Who‘s dog) Was also off the lead approached pops and they started sniffing doing the usual doggy stuff. The women the decided to start screaming & beating poppy. She was kicking, Punching - Hitting her with a plastic lead. Resulting in poppy cowering & yelping.

I ran and grabbed poppy and the women ran off with her dog. I never got the chance to say or do anything. (TBH the way I‘m feeling now with all my Cr8p) I could have really hurt her. Luckily the vet was understanding to us being slightly late and offered to check her over for free. (Poppy was lifting her front leg) It seems she’s got mussels bruising. Poppy is now being running scared when other people bend down to touch her. Hopefully there’s no lasting damage but I will be reporting her to the local dog warden.

OH said he heard the women shout F*cking staffies before she started hitting poppy.

On the plus side, She’s happy, healthy and boosted up for another year.

OH never received his weekly wage today. OH boss jetted off yesterday and assured him that this week wage would be in today. However it hasn’t. Little pee’d off, But until the weekdays I cant do much really.

Off to do some washing as its finally sunny here now. xx
    Future goals:
    Become debt free.
    Beat Depression.
    Be happy & healthy
