Maybe now could be the time to start a brand new OS/tough times thread? This one is over 17000 posts long and perhaps a brand new thread could be a new starting point for us all? What do others think?

I was about to suggest the same thing - I think the time is right for a fresh start & new thread.

Can I have the last word please? That way nobody else needs to.

A new thread would be a good idea. Any suggestions as to name?

We've had the doorstep - how about something 'over the fence'?
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

    Good idea Nuatha.

When some like Kidcat, with all the trials and tribulations in their life feels the need to leave a place where they could have unconditional support, its selfish to think that your grievances are more important than that and need to be aired so publically.
I wouldn't like to think that this behaviour crop up on other, previously friendly threads by posters simply moving to another thread.

I just feel so sad for all the people caught up in this nonsense who have nothing to do with it.

I am a member of this page you mention...are you saying I am a member of a bullying gang? Are you making judgements about me based on another person's say so?

Frankly, I think your post is disgusting.

As for the previous male member you refer to who was "bullied" I think you need to remember which poster brought to this thread most of that upset. And as I recall you condoned as well as contributed.

Good morning Toughies, this is going to be an extremely difficult post to write and I hope will not be seen as accusatory but it has been flagged up to me by a couple of different members that a facebook group has been set up and people are being invited to join it with the puropse of forcing at least one regular poster off and away from the thread. I'll not name anyone but if you have joined what is an infant school playground 'gang' than you should be ashamed of yourselves as we are all allegedly adults at least in age but perhaps not in behaviour. I don't do facebook so I have no way of varification but the very idea that such manipulative and spitefully wicked things could happen amongst what I consider to be a group of good friends and good people makes me nauseous. A couple of years ago a male member recently joined after the death of his mother and very distressed was witch hunted and a campaign was run against him which DID end with his leaving permanently and I really do think that once for that kind of behaviour is once too many, you have free choice in what you do and I urge anyone to think very caferully before actually participating in anything quite as distasteful and unacceptable as this. I have been mulling over for most of the night whether to actually put this post up today, I hope I'll be forgiven by the board guides and this is not meant to be agressive or anti anyone but knowing that this is happening I just didn't feel I could let it run without disclosure.

    New Thread please
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle
  • Life is very odd isn't it one day and one post I'm a good friend and the next I'm a social pariah and the worst of bad guys. The information PMd to me was taken in good if a little mystified faith, if it was wrong information I stand corrected and am totally in the wrong and humbly appologise to all concerned for posting falsities and alledging misdeeds and wrongdoings. I am in the wrong if there is no truth at all in what I was told and you are perhaps right in that I've supported certain posters more than others and yes, there are always two sides to every story so I'm in the wrong there too. I'm not justifying any of my actions, thoughts or posts and you can ostracise me if that's your wish I'll bide by it not quite happily but peacefully. All I have ever tried to do is be a good friend to each of you, if that isn't enough, so be it!
