Pooky - good for you & good luck with your plans. We hummed & ha'd too long so now there's just the 2 of us in a 4 bedroomed house - yes we do have people staying at various times but it does grieve me to clean 2 bedrooms & a dining room that are scarcely used. I've decided that we're goig to knock the wall down between the kitchen & dining room & have a big open plan area. It will be much lighter & give me a far more user friendly working space. Hope we may be able to start on it this year - we shall see

No Ginny I am near your mum Victoria Park, Bolton.

I guess you have had one of these silly maps that does not show you were it is.

My best one was when the Christy said the timetables for the buses that go to the Christy were in the entrances to the Christy. They still can't see how stupid that is.
  • It doesn't take much to make me happy but He Who Knows has just taken the lights out of our big old apple tree on the front lawn and said 'Have you seen what's coming up on the front lawn?' I hadn't looked specifically as we grassed over the central flower bed last year and I know we planted spare bluebell bulbs under the grass but it's not them! Last year, I found the first wild sown primrose on the edge of the flower bed, it had 3 flowers on it and I enjoyed it so much for half a day before He Who Knows mowed the lawns and forgot it was there!!! I was so sad!!! However, it must like where it is because its little leaves are showing again in a lovely healthy looking rosette and I'm hopeful that we'll get some early primrose flowers this year, Magic!!!

Of course Nursemaggie, my brain needs rebooting today ,its full of stuff wizzing around and not making sense :rotfl:

I had a look online at the hospital map but as we dont know where we are going in the hospital its pretty pointless. I dont want to end up at the wrong entrance with a wheelchair full of stressed man. Will phone tomorrow nd find out the details unless the paperwork actully arrives.

Thats an epic fail having the timetables at the destination :o . They presume everyone has cars AND chauffeurs along with a magic wand and the ability to guess what to do as theres no one to ask, oh and be able to not eat or drink for hours while you wait ( even the carer not just the patient). Thank goodness for my Mary Poppins bag with food, drink, pens, paper, yarn, hook and magzines :rotfl:

Lynn....I too get very excited when the early flowers of spring start to come through the ground , such a lovely time of the year coming up , ive got wild cowslips in the garden and primroses , and they are my favourite flowers of spring , so remind me of my childhood......:)

Mrs Veg plot.....I would definitely phone the medical secretary and tell her your daughter is unwell and on medications for it, I know they will cancel the op , ur better safe than sorry.......When the surgeon and anaesthetist comes round to her bed just before the op they will ask if she as a cold or chest/breathing problems, its very dangerous having a anaesthetic and a bad chest , I know that because I had the same problem when I had a shoulder op 2 years ago.........
Pooky ...I dont envy you when you sell your house , what a stressful time that will be for you, better to start de cluttering now than leave it to the move
Silvasaver....Sounds like a good plan with opening up 2 rooms in to one.....Thats better than moving in my eyes.......
Mardather ...Ive still got my hens , all 44 of them , I do love my hens and ive had them for 8 years now , plus I sell the eggs at the gate so the girls pay for their own food that way .......

My feet are getting better:T:D , Ive been wearing a pair of slippers now for the past 2 days , ive only been able to wear crocs for the past 3 years so it feels lovely , ive got no sharp pains up my heels , plus I dont have to wear heel supports in my boots , I cant believe im getting to the pain free stage , I treated myself to a pair of sheep skin slipper boots and im actually wearing them all day indoors with no feet pain , ive had a constant grin on my face since being able to wear them with no pain , its lovely....:T......Just want my chest infection to go now , its now starting to feel a bit better after taking 7 days of anti biotics............ I go for my feet check up Monday pm , and that should be the last I see of my foot surgeon (podiatrist)......:D.....

Im starting to feel human again , god dam it , your health is everything , cos without it youve got nothing.......
Better get off me butt and chuck another log on the fire.....Catch you all later Sheila

Sheila, so glad you are feeling better, another week and you should be as right as rain. Must be lovely to be pain free after so long.
Mrs LW - What a treat! As a christmas gift I was given 3 hyacinth bulbs in a little basket, I have come back from a few days away and 2 of them are flowering, there were just a few leaves when I went!
Mrs VegPlot I hope your DD gets well soon.

Well, that's me home now, it's been a busy couple of weeks and I am quite looking forward to having a day at home tomorrow before I start work again on Monday. I have cleaned DS2s flat from top to bottom, bet he doesn't even notice! Had a good flight back with just one jumper as dirty laundry, washed before I left and put it on the airers to dry. DS2 can put it away when he gets back on Monday.

Just tidied out a chest/coffee table in the living room and have got 10 games to go to the charity shop, they haven't been played since before we moved here a year ago. That's my rule for this year, if it hasn't been used for a while it goes!

Pooky, you sound in a similar place to us ,we bought this house 14 years ago ,cheap but worth a lot more ,lots of jobs needed doing , its taken us a while but we think we should be done in the next two years ....then we sell buy something smaller ,be mortgage free be able to work less ,help the kids out with childcare, and go on holidays ,just have to keep going for a couple of years ..,...

Don't know if I am looking forward to the kids going back to school or not ,youngest dd has been having problems with some kids calling her fatt , resulting in problems with her eatting normal amount of food ,..its ridiculous she is quite slim with long legs and getting taller every minute ..we only got to the bottom of this prior to them breaking up ...will have to speak to school next week and go from there ,out of all my 4 kids she is the most sensitive ,sometimes I wish she was a bit more street wise and just tell them to get lost ,but then that wouldn't be her ...

So today has been a productive day ,D's played and lost at football but had fun so who cares about the score ...dh and I cut trees up ,split ,moved and sorted what felt like 1000 weight in wood but will keep us going for at least 2 weeks ( 2 fires ,one on 24 hers each day) ,then hm veg pasta bake, and eaten? mess using up an load of cheap veg and fruit ..and free eggs from our geriatric chickens

Plan on gutting front room tomorrow, don't think I have been in there since Xmas day, kids still have stuff all over ..and tree still up

    Xx

  • I've had a busy day today. 6am start when Miss VP woke me up, still had a high temp and feeling no better. Ended up at Out of hours. Her chest is still clear but she has prescribed more antibiotics with the aim of clearning the infection up before her opinion. GP advised we still go on Wed and let the anathetist assess her, but thanks for the advice everyone.
In anticipation I have spent the day sorting her pit of a room out. I cannot believe the amount of laundry I have turned out. I don't usually go in there as the state of it winds me up but I want it deep cleaning before her op.

Made a turkey and veg curry for tea (turkey and cauliflower from the freezer). I thought that there was a chicken in the freezer for tomorrow, forgot we had it before Christmas. Have taken some pheasant out, just need to Google a nice recipe now.
I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order :D.
