    Pleased the decoration ideas are making the crafty juices flow ;) DD2 has made some Santa sleighs for some of her friends, with 2 candy canes for the skis along the side of a 4 finger Kit Kat, and other sweets tied on with tinsel. I've been crocheting a tiny snowflake, which, if I get around to it, might have some brothers and sisters soon to make a snowflakey garland.
    Last year DD2 made a garland with strips cut from an old book.
    ... Cut two lots of 3 strips about 1'' wide x 5'', 6'', and 7''-ish long. You can adjust the length/width to suit you. Staple them all together at one end, with the longest ones in the middle,and the shortest ones on the outside, then turn three over to the left, and 3 over to the right, so the longest ones are on the outside of the heart shape, and staple all together at the bottom of the heart. Costs nothing if you have a free mag - just a couple of staples.

    2 cardigans = 10 coupons
    Sandals = 5 coupons ... total 38/66

    My fingers are crossed for that job for you Wondercollie. You never know, it might pan out well.

    Good luck at the hospital Ivyleaf.

    Pooky, I vividly remember university accommodation. I remember one year, we ended up with a house so bad I got permission to paint it, bought a 20 litre tub of magnolia paint and painted over every wall. I also put down new lino in the kitchen. That was in the first couple of days of moving in. It worked out really well for me though, when I went to buy the lino (covered from head to foot in paint) I got a weekend job at the carpet place!! Thanks to the commission in that job, plus the hotel job I had in holidays, I finished uni with no student debt. So crappy accommodation can have its benefits :rotfl: I learned how to bleed radiators, unblock drains, repair door handles, you name it!

    Today was nice, husbands works Christmas lunch and I was invited. Love his boss. When I got out of hospital, the day after, his boss sent me a huge flower arrangement. First flowers I've ever had delivered. Husband can keep working for him as long as he likes, I think he's the bees knees.

    White fairyland outside this morning, lying snow frozen and twinkling like diamonds. I bravely waved the RV off out in it (docs appt) and went to make more tea, sit at the fire, and cuddle the nice warm cat. Ah it's all go up here. :D

    Hello everyone. So pleased it is the weekend. I am really very tired.

    For tea we're having frozen breaded fish, frozen chips, tinned mushy peas and bread and butter. I am making no apologies for not making home made tonight. Nope.

    We are looking after the schools hamster this weekend. I do hope nothing bad happens to him on our watch :eek:

    DH is being given Christmas gifts from suppliers (as a way of thanking him for his business and I presume "this is a nice gift for your family, please remember and use us next year" sort of idea) but it means I have a bottle of red wine to make my mulled wine with so very happy there. :)

    The plan is to stay local, stay relaxed and try to muster some Christmas spirit this weekend. I have to say I am feeling very down of late. I can't seem to shake the miseries. It's a very frustrating place to be because there is absolutely nothing wrong! I just don't understand it.

    Hope all is ok with everyone. :)

    fuddle I think part of the winter miseries is down to the short days. Here the official time of sunrise is about 08:20 and sunset is about 15:40. We are heading for the darkest time of the year, until the Solstice around the 21st when the days start lengthening again. Maybe it is just psychological, but I do feel better once we get to Solstice.

    You need make no apologies at all. It's breakfast time, I looked at that and my stomach grumbled, it looks very tasty to me! Hope your uneasiness settles Fuddle, you're doing so well.

    Shanks77, hope your cold goes soon. At least it'll be out of the way when the festivities hit.
