I don't think I have ever seen you write the word 'potter' monna. I 'ave to say it suits you
I sit here on this calm but dull morning with my camomile and spiced apple tea (hint of Autumn creeping in already) planning my day.
It consists of work till 1.30pm as DH is on a week holiday.
Making a banana cake as we have bananas that are just a little too ripe.
Get the brisket in to slow cook and have it with roasted carrots, mashed potato and gravy.
Sort washing/ironing/putting away.
Go for a walk at the National Trust place a few miles away if the rain holds off and not to enter the gift shop to ogle at the jams! Can you ever have too many preserves?
Chill with my crochet.
Not a bad day ahead it seems. Happy Tuesday0 -
Good morning everyone! Not sure what's happening here today, but at least it's not pouring with rain (yet). I expect we'll visit DD and DSIL this afternoon and take some newspapers for lining their guinea pigs' cage, and their dogs will fling themselves upon us full of joy that we've come to see them
Must also ring the Foot Clinic to see how much they charge for sorting out an ingrowing toenail which is now too painful when the chiropodist treats it at my home so needs something permanent done _pale_0 -
Morning all. A day to myself here today but need to book hair appts, arrange repair of toilet and other things equally as exciting.Spend less now, work less later.0

Please Missis I've already got Ancient and Modern Chutney cos I was sorting out my shelves yesterday and came across some from 2007 sat behind some from 2014, does that count?
Lovely day you've got planned FUDDLE so organised and brisket in the slow cooker is my idea of absolute heaven!!! and NO a girl can never have too many preserves as is seen by the fact that I now have 3 full shelves stacked 3 jars high, some of considerable vintage, and am still considering making more this autumn, it's a crime not to when you've got the produce to use up isn't it?
Rare night out for me tonight we've a new restaurant opened in the village and my lovely sister in law has booked the two of us a table to see what the food is like this evening. It's an italian and the menu reads well but I find I'm often dissapointed by the 'englishness' of italian restaurants food, which is so bland compared to italian food on the continent. I'll not know how this is unless I go and see will I?
Still raining here and He Who Knows and Docky are all kitted up in waterproofs ready to go so I'll get the housework done and drying towels down for my poor soggy houndicus when he comes back and make sure I have some hot coffee for my poor soggy OH!!!
Have yourselves a lovely day and FUDDLE have a lovely National Trust walk this afternoon if the weather lets you, Lyn xxx.0 -
Morning all, Fuddle your planned day sounds idilic, I wish I could be like that. I am due in at work at 1 until close at 10pm. This morning I am just going to relax and potter around - I am attempting to leave cleaning the whole house again today. Maybe I am a bit OCD, I have started hovering twice a day so I know its getting bad.
I would love to have some fruit growing in the garden, maybe in the next few months I can persuade OH to plant a few. Hopefully we will be able to start growing veg again.
Monna I don't know how you are coping with all the moving, I would hate to move house - where do you start??
Mrs LW hopefully you manage to dodge the rain today, bud wouldn't go outside as it was raining but he did use his training pad so no big deal. He went for his walk but when it started to spit with rain he turned around and started walking back!! who says doggys are clever??
take care all xBSC member 137

Morning toughies from sunny Devon. Well it's sunny at the moment at least ☺
We Began our holiday in Somerset on Sunday and moved onto Devon last night.
Internet reception is awful which is causing me some auty issues but hopefully today we can wander to the beach and cheer them up. Off to the zoo this morning picnic packed and all weather gear just in case.
Waiting on call from vet as doggy test results were due but haven't arrived yet and Saturday I had to take old boy puddy tat to vetty person for what appears to be facial absess. Turns out he also has a broken rib and a mass on his kidneys though so more tests awaiting for him. Poor dd19 is home pet sitting the poorlies!
Have oopsed up though and forgotten to tell my parents we are away so expecting war when they find out
Monna buy a nice summer house/shed. It can be your office and work room and storage too.0 -
Hi Fuddle, can I come for tea - it sounds so tasty.
Had a trip out yesterday to Skipton, not as exciting as it sounds - model railwy exhibition for Oh but he enjoyed it and it was quite pleasant. Picnic in a car park watching steam trains then I left him to snooze in the car and nipped over to Tesco where I picked up a few ys's. It was so nice to see beautiful scenery and breathe fresh air.
Today consists of waiting impatiently for my new suite - £15 from a cs :jso am forced to sit at the lappy because theres no where else to sit. They have rung to say they are on the way so its not too bad. Must say the living room looks rather good when its empty of furniture, shame we need a suite :rotfl:
Mrs Lw you really cannot have too much jam and preserves! I must get my finger out and do mine as the freezers are full of odd bags and boxes of fruit. Theres something immensley satisfying when you get the maslin pan out and start the process.Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -
Maslin pan? Now I know my jam is more a runny jelly - I always put it down to guess work, but could it be I use a sauce pan? What is a maslin pan and I think I do need a thermometer - especially as I am glued to Sweets Made Simple at the moment.0
