PIC thankyou for the message, its true he doesn't call or visit often. Only when he needs something usually. I plan my week around taking mum shopping every Thursday and attending any hospital visits. I don't mind at all, just wish once in a while he would offer. I spoke to mum and she said she is enjoying the time away. they are going to heckington show tomorrow - are you visiting??

  • Evening all, it's so hot here t the moment I think we're in danger of melting. It's nearly 10 at night and has been bakingly hot all day, the only cool part was when we took the little ferry boat to the other side of the river and got some spray on our backs. I don't think there will be a lot of sleep had by any of us tonight. We barbecued in the garden as it was just too hot to cook indoors and are still all windows and doors open hoping to pick up a little breeze.

The weather forecast is for i to cool a little this week, I love summer but this has been just uncomfortable. Hope you are all in a cooler place, Night, Lyn xxx.

We've had a couple of days of torrential rains. One of the small rural hospitals actually had to be closed due to flooding in the emergency unit. Black and thundery all day.

When we have elders admitted usually there is a son and daughter listed as next of kin. I always phone the son because I figure the daughter can use a break.

Nutty I think I'm going to pop to a small car boot instead. It's on early then I can get home and [STRIKE]clean up all my mess I've made while everyones been away and say how clean the house stays when they'r not in it[/STRIKE] rest in the cool ;)

Men just don't think the same way as us and to be honest. Not out of spite but just that they don't think or the woman in their life pulls the strings. Families eh?

Hubby says he's been dying of heat in Portsmouth and his back has been killing him. Not saying how many times his Dad has called him a liar about his back but I wonder what is said now he has a pronounced hunch. (insert swear word of your choice here)

Try and keep cool my lovelies

Scary for you kidcat, hope things are going better and look after yourself, you must be frazzled.

Can anyone tell me how long I can freeze milk for? Bought a dozen x 1 pint semi skimmed in Waitr@se this afternoon at 10p each!

I've had milk in the freezer for a couple of months before and it's been fine thawing out slowly in the fridge. Well done you on your bargain.

Hi all :) well I for one am so pleased to see the rain on here since yesterday afternoon, as the heat was too much for me. It is so refreshing to be cooler now. The weather had been glorious however it was so draining for us both.
Sorry to hear about problems many of you have and are having and hope things get better for you xx
Nice relaxing day for me My dh is at work and I was out at church this morning and home again, so can relax and catch up on my knitting:) I do so enjoy that.:) Love to all xx

Thanks Jazee, I was very pleased :)

Mar I think we could all be heading your way - boiling here again and forecast to continue for at least another week
  • We had thunderstorms overnight - I was awake all night without them - and is not so much cooler as fresher today. Big relief :)
I don't do well in the heat, especially at night. It's why MUST have air conditioning when go away.
Having a treat today as a friend is taking me out for tea. Am looking forward to it now that have caught up on some sleep. And will make a nice change from sorting/clearing. Might manage a sneaky cold drink -IYKWIM.
