Just playing catch-up as I have been AWOL for a bit, busy with work and life.
Hester, what a tough time, speechless over the doc's incompetence, but some good suggestions there for meals. Hugs.
Shegar, I had plantar fasciitis for years, and yes it is awful. I refused cortisone injections as I couldn't afford to get worse before I got better.
I used soft foam/ gel pads in my shoes as I had to carry on walking and working. I had torn my Achilles tendon as well and things were all a bit messy. Hugs.
Life tootles on here, nothing very dramatic to report, but enjoying all your bits and pieces.
I've just seen that one of the guys from the TV series 'Toughest Place To Be A .....', Mason McQueen the taxi driver, is being given his own series. He was brilliant, a TV natural.
Edit: I tweeted Mason McQueen to congratulate him and he tweeted back. What a lovely guy.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Morning everyone
It amazes me what you lot cope with on a daily basis and still have so much time for everyone else, be proud of yourselves your all amazing!
Devil dog had me up at 3.50...........first light and all that, nearly at the longest day now so I will start to get some lay ins soon
I saw on tw!tter T's are doing deliveries for a £1 if you spend over £25 it that helps anyone, cheaper than fuel and going yourself I thought.
DS (17) sprained his knee playing footie at the weekend so I've been doing the school runs as he can't ride his bike, does it make me a bad parent because I'd forgot I had to collect him and he only go picked up as he rang to say he'd finished early.
Have a good day everyone

PIC, don't apologise, I've had nightmare neighbours & it can be hell on earth.
Hubby is feeling a lot better, coming to terms with it, I'l follow up on the McMillan suggestions, thank you for those.
I can see trouble ahead with the rest of hubby's family, there a 4 brothers & one is strange, hey ho, I'll cross that bridge when we get to it. My main priority is to protect hubby, he doesn't cope well with stress & will need someone in his corner. I'm short, fat, old & appear friendly, but cross me at your peril.
When I went to hospital with DD & her hubby for the arrival of the twins, he hubby said 'I like your Mum, but boy she's scary & she's so little', lol.
Shergar, hubby has plantar fasciitis too, he has heel inserts & they keep him mobile.
Thanks for all the hugs, greatly appreciated.Chin up, Titus out.0 -
Shegar, my son has this and its agony. He works 12 hr shifts on his feet too. He's on a cocktail of strong painkillers but gets very worn down by the pain.0

CANDLELIGHT 2013 , yea im not too bad thanks, I often read but havent got too much to say ..I read the threads then press the thanks button , thats my way of telling people that im still reading........
OH is doing very well in his new home, in fact id say he loves it , I get him home every 2 weeks for the weekend, at the end of the weekend he cant wait to get back to" his home" , he enjoys the peace and quiet there , where at home its the doorbell, the phone , dog bark sometimes , and poor man just needs peace and quiet, which id understandable .......
Im not too good, im getting well and proper over my sinus op which im pleased about .......I had to have lazer surgery due to the diabetes and leaking blood vessels , ive had quite a lot of lazer in the past 8 years , and I just hope my sight holds out for me for a few more years .......
My poor plantar fasciitis is real bad, I went drs yesterday to have another cortisone injection, they are so painful to have , the dr has a greed that I should see a dr up the hospital,:T, ive had this for nearly 3 years and it affects my life considerably , theres so much I cant do , ive not been able to walk the dog for the past 3 weeks , impossible to put weight on both feet........Be good if I can have a op , something to look forward to to be able to walk...................Im normally such an active person , and love the outdoors.......
Ive been watching "springwatch " as its only 4 miles from me , I do love wildlife so much, ive been minsmere alot of times , tonight they are on Dunwich Heath thats another beautiful place..........Take care all Sheila
I don't normally post on here but do read every day. I had plantar fasciitis around 6 years ago. Drs were useless, just told me to take ibuprofen which is an anti inflammatory. I was the referred to a physio through occupational health at work, and he had had the problem himself so knew a lot about it. His treatments didn't work, but he did tell me tha you could self refer to the school of podiatry at our local hospital, which I did. Might be worth checking that out at yours?
I went through all the treatments and nothing worked, so after suffering about 18 months had the steroid injection. First one didn't really work, second one did.
Anyway, sorry for waffling, the whole point of my post is to tell you that you can buy local anaesthetic cream, it's called emla, from your chemist. It doesn't need a prescription, although they asked me what I needed it for. It's the same stuff they put on your hands for scaredy cats like me when having an operation so you don't feel the needle go in.
I found that by using the emla cream, I barely felt the injections. I am very scared of needles, and also have a low pain threshold, so I don't think I would have been able to stand it otherwise.
Sorry for long post, just thought it might help. I've had lots of operations and ask for the cream all the time, but would have never realised you could buy it without the physio telling me.0 -
Hello doorsteppers
Been really busy lately, spare you all the finer details but decluttering, shopping, admin tasks and preparing DS10 for secondary school selection tests all feature. Had a wave of energy and then overdid it as usual- I am trying to break these cycles and get a better balance but it takes time I guess. Last night I couldn't sleep and feeling it today. Have nothing urgent to do other than collect a prescription later so off to bed now for an hour, lucky me. DH is at college tonight so will be a long day with the children otherwise.
Forgot to post weeks back but I am going to be a great auntie again. DH's 2nd eldest niece and partner are expecting their 2nd baby early autumn. We both get on really well with DH's older nieces - DH thinks the world of them and it is great to have some family that we have good relationships with. Shame we see them so infrequently (distance/accommodation is a big factor and then the MIL situation makes it very awkward for us to visit.) Being as I am a mother (albeit an older one) of primary school children, great aunt makes me sound rather old and grand :rotfl:
Huge hugs to Hester and empathies to PIC (been there and bought several t-shirts with difficult neighbours)
Hello to ladyshopperI haven't had pf but I have had heel spurs which were very painful and needed a couple of rounds of injections. Hope your feet improve soon Shegar.
take care

Morning all, lovely weather here - sunny and quite warm. OH is busy at work, DD is in a state of panic as the offer of a mortgage was withdrawn last week so tomorrow they find out if there is any other company they can try. Other DD is busy at collage, resitting her maths exam tomorrow. Don't think she is looking at uni now, she needs assistance but they didn't offer any special needs help at the one she initially looked at.
I took mum to ice land this morning to collect the free food that had been offered in the sun, we had to collect 5 tokens. It was amixed selection of stuff, but free is free afterall. we then went to aldi and it was packed. Lots of new faces so I suppose everyone is trying it now.
We have listed some bits on facebook and landofbay this week, all cash will be saved up.
PIC, sympathys with horrible neighbours. We have to share a driveway, but luckily its a elderly lady. To park on the roadside is another matter, the man opposite insists if he is having any visitors then no one should park there. Needless to say a few heated arguments have happened. He even blocks the road to unpack his shopping, the bus that comes buy just tries to get as close as possible, he cant get into the boot so he has to move it. FUNNY!!
Time to sort the housework out, have a great day everyone, take care all xBSC member 137

Hester Don't forget to look after yourself as well x
Nutty Why have they withdrew the offer? I bet she is beside herself at this stage. Is there no talking them round as when I remortgaged it was the same day as the interest rates went down and they tried to worm their way out of it until I gave them every piece of proof I had plus a sworn decoration of which hand I wipe my bum with
SQ or should I say GreatSQ? congratulations :T
Ladyshopper glad your posting, if you posted more often it would stop me moaning about the neighbours....
Taking the dogs for a walk this morning I bumped into CW who said "good morning" in a happy and cheerful manor
This is after Sunday fall out with next door, screaming at us over the gate and threatening us with the police and RSPCA on Tuesday to the point where I said[STRIKE] F..........[/STRIKE] go awayand yesterday was spent with her LL
I really do think she has two heads like Worzel Gummidge.....
I have told her this morning I do not want to talk to her and anything she has to say can be relayed through her landlady, hopefully this will shut her up or she will move.
Everyone is out today so I'm going to pop to NNH mans house for a quick catch up then I'm going to have a bath, in peace with no one knocking on the door! I may even splurge and get to shave my legs

Ha ha paidinchickens! I lurk on a few os threads, but don't often post. Guess I don't really feel that I'm os enough I suppose.
Am spending even more time on here than usual as had major surgery 9 weeks ago which I'm still recovering from. First 8 weeks was pretty much stuck in bed and had to rely on kids a lot which was hard for them and me. Been a lot more mobile this week, and aiming to give driving a go by end of week. Am a bit stir crazy stuck in the house!0 -
LS Oh bless you, don't go doing too much all at once
I bet the first place you go is to a supermarket it seems to be our recovering default setting :rotfl:
