    Morning everyone

It's DH Birthday today which means we will have to go out for lunch as he wants a pint of beer :o

I think my purse has ran off and hidden itself, for safety reasons :p

Good morning folks and what a beautiful bright day it is now after the earlier fog. Feeling happy today and had a good day yesterday. Got the house looking better - slow progress but definitely an improvement. The more I declutter and spring clean, the more I want to do.

Little DS went to his friend's house after school - he even happily let friend's mum collect him from school, progress! She took them to a big park, treated them to a hoppy meal (their regular pay day treat) and playing at their home to follow. DS was a very happy bunny when I collected him.

Meanwhile bigger DS went to his science course and got to use Bunsen burners etc for the 1st time and back to ours with 2 school friends for huge plates of pizza and loud games on the whee console. I meet up with an old friend at the secondary school and chatted for an hour aided by the cuppas provided.

Off for an appointment with the lovely young lass who looks after us all in the council gym. DH has been so concerned about me going back with my dodgy back so I have asked for a very back friendly programme with back strengthening exercises. Reviews are all free and now they have installed fab new showers I will be saving money keeping clean too!

Washing beeping at me so off I go. Hope you are all ok and if not please tell us all about it and have a big hug in the meantime

edit: Possession - good luck for the sleepover and its planning - how many are coming? We haven't had any sleepovers yet but once the boys have separate rooms and DH has finished his course, DS9 will have some (or maybe just the one and no more ever!)

Kidcat - how are you today?
Cornish chick - thinking of you and your DH and hoping you are both ok

5 are coming SQ, so 6 screaming girls. Have managed to get DS an escape luckily, he's staying with a friend after karate.Wish I could go with him.

Aren't bunsen burners fab? DS comes home with a happy smile when he's had a go with them that day. I'm not averse to having a play with them myself, my main memory of chemistry at school is burning potassium permanganate (sp?).
  • I've been into the city today and had a visit to Ik*a for a couple of things I needed. In their kiddies section they had 2 x lidded beaker drinking cups that are little dogs and the nose is where you drink, so cute! and a pack of 6 weaning spoons, a pack of 3 plastic deep plates and a lovely table mat in the same set. Ezra has an easter present, I like this Oma lark, it's fun!!!
  • Oh Lyn I would never have guessed, I thought you had bought them for yourself and He Who Knows:)

It is lovely isn't it being able to buy things for little people.

I'm having Ikea withdrawal symptoms! Cute but practical presents are the best. Enjoy Oma.

I have 2 nieces and a nephew for Easter as well as my two. My Easter gifts are books. I adore buying kiddies books. I have a WHSm*th voucher for £5 off book when spend £12 so will be putting it to good use.

I see Morrisons reporting lowering prices as a way of getting foot fall increased. Not impressed really as as soon as their margins are hit the prices will increase. Just been on t'other thread and found there's suet for 70-80p as opposed to Brand name. Chuffed as that stuff is getting more and more expensive.

Us 3 girls have at present got a marble cake in the oven but major logistical problem as I'm meant to be roasting carrots and making yorkshires too for the mince and gravy in the SC - oven temp is 160 so willing the cake to cook to get the other stuff in! Ooops - late tea ok DH?

Car completely fixed. It took 2 nights but its now safe to be on the road again. A retest will cost £20 as we took it out of the garage to do the work but the amount saved by DH workmates doing it, it's worth it. They think I should get another year out of it but should be saving to change just in case. Seems a sensible thing to do.

Enjoying the sun but can't get my washing line up as where it needs to go remains in the sun. I think we may have to invest in a whirly gig.

I think that is all OS style folks. Sure there wa a question I needed to ask - oh there was... Vegetable suet - what is it used for?

    Thanks :)

We used to go to the council run gym SQ as it was a very reasonable £14 a month. I used to drag hubby along as well and we attended the beginners Pilates. The instructor was great and she used to have a class at the local physio center for £6 an hour so what a saving! same woman/class but different venue/price.

We used to go three times a week as my back is dodgy at the best of times, I'm probably laid up 3 days out of any week. These classes helped no end but the traffic was so bad traveling across town and back it just cost too much in fuel. We could be stuck in traffic an hour each way.

I do miss it and so does my back!

Well we went for lunch and I left my purse at home :rotfl: not that it matters as although we have separate bank accounts we share our pennies.

I had a lovely vegetarian lasagne which surprised me as it was a chain pub 2 for £10. DH had a pint of beer and I had a glass of wine in the beer garden as it was sunny and now I just can't wait for bedtime as I'm so tired :rotfl:

If your not living life on the edge your taking up too much room

Vegetable suet is used in just the same way as regular suet Fuddle.

Have sold a chicken coop, a DVD player and a set of garden table and chairs today, and bought a 2ndhand Dyson. Think I might be turning into Delboy. I have completely forgotten to do anything for dinner though which is a bit naughty. It will be pot luck from the freezer to the oven.
