I guess what constitutes as a waste of money to one group is appreciated and needed to another. I dont begrudge kids their space or the money spent on it because they don't have a lot in the way of amenities in the grand scheme of things. I understand the frustrations though. We're yet to receive our bill as not released for a few more days yet and I expect there to be quite a jump but well take the hit - as long as the pot holes continue to be repaired that is! Some roads here are in a sorry, sorry state. I don't see how a patch job can suffice in some areas but we'll see.
Head down and continue on folks.
I am pleased to see the coverage of the death of the RMT leader to be in such a positive light, to show that this bloke stood up for Southerners and their rights. Believe it or not I had never heard of him - its heavily GMB up North (miners legacy I guess) but learning about the good he did for the working class makes for interesting education.
Not heard a thing more about supermarket prices coming down - that obviously was a headline with no substance. I have noticed there's little or no BOGOF now. That's how I stock piled my reserves and finding it quite difficult to top up without spending more.0 -
Morning all
Congratulations Mrs C
I'm off to Lincoln Uni today with DH and DS1 to see if DS1 likes it there and would consider it as his second choice. DH is trying to persuade me that stopping at Damon's Ribs is a good idea. I wish he had said that yesterday before I spent last night cooking turkey soup, turkey pie filling and shepherd's pie so I knew we had food to come back to.
My DMIL is having her second knee replacement on 31st March and as we are visiting this weekend I'm cooking ready meals for my PIL's freezer so they have food without having to worry about it for a few days. I still need to make some tea loaves, flapjacks, fish pies and chicken stew.
I'd better get ready to go, at least this visit hasn't meant the alarm going off at 5.30am.
Much love and hugs xxxxxxx
If you need to know anything about the city give me a shout as I live there.
Damons ribs is one of the things I miss most about being a veggie

Paid in chickens, im near you!!! well im actually in the area with the flower parade. I didn't realise someone was so close to me!!
Hi all, had another busy day at work, what with Cheltenham races etc. I got to finish at lunch today as its the anniversary of my dad passing, it was 3 years ago!!! Still was nice to take my mum for lunch and raise a glass to him. Im sure he is proud of me and my girls. I have a picture on my facebook page now, and its with my 2 girls.
Came home and nextdoor are building a huge patio, amazing as neither of them work. I know plenty of people struggle but they seem to be a lot better of then us, and were working. Cant remember when I ever had takeaways delivered let alone new furniture delivered. But as someone has said before, they will probably be paying of the bill for the furniture over the next 5 years or more. I am happy with my ebay bargains.
Tomorrow I finish work for nearly 2 weeks, so the plan is to dig out the remainder of the paint and get DD bedroom refreshed. If I can find some emulsion will give the outside toilet a freshen up.
Take care all xBSC member 137

mcculloch, that's a lovely thing to do. It's made me wonder whether my library would like some of my better cast offs in my mega-book-clear-out.
Jack Munroe has just started a new petition on change.org before the March 19th budget calling for every budget to have a 'hunger test'. Just wanted to flag it here in case anyone was interested in signing.

Evening Toughies, another wonderful and sunny day here and another lovely walk with the dogs this afternoon across the common and along the footpaths, being warm is such a nice experience as is being dry and able to access all the dog walks again as the paths are drying off nicely, long may it continue!
Have just had a Skype chat with DD2 and wish to report that the Zebra child has just weighed in at 3.895Kg and is doing very nicely. His little face is fuller and he's awake for longer in the day and beginning to interact with his parents and make little noises back too, how cute is that? DD is very happy as she can drive again as of today which will make her life so much easier and let her visit friends and not be stuck in the flat all day every day, so much better for all of them. She's off to her knitting group tonight in the car and feeling very happy about that, the boy's doing good!!! Oma xxx.0 -
I am so pleased Lyn, although you knew it would come to pass.
DD will enjoy Ezra even more now because she will have more freedom and of course the boy is becoming more interesting.

I'm a Yorkshire lass born and lived here most of my life but my Dad's first headship was not so far from you lot at the John Fielding school in Boston and we lived there for 5 years when I was small - I remember the flower parade well nutty - I was amazed by it as a small person!
I must be doing ok at the not talking too much lark as the croak seems to be, well I'll not go so far as to say getting better but it's starting to feel like it might do one day soon!
Must stop lally gagging on here and go and do the online shop - take care all and catch you in a bit - X0
