If you can wait until later I'll post up Hugh Fernley Whittingstalls, his uses dark and white chocolate and is awesome! That said is your friend breast feeding as it might not be something she is allowed to eat as it has raw egg in it.SIMPLE SIMON - Met a pie man going to the fair. Said Simple Simon to the pie man, "What have you got there?" Said the pie man unto Simon, "Pies, you simpleton!"0

Is quick, easy and yummy - no eggs so safe for all to eat!

hi thanks for the recipes - and yes she is breast feeding.....in the nutella recipe how much whipped cream do i need and how much does it make - sorry for sounding thick!!0

Per person you need
1 egg
50g/ 2oz dark chocolate (don't use cheap chocolate)
You also need a
Little shot of strong coffee/ some liqueur such as Tia Maria, Cointreau (no need to measure, just guess!)
Knob of butter
Seperate the eggs. Melt the chocolate and butter over a bain marie or on very low setting in the microwave. Whisk the egg whites to stiff peaks. When the chocolate and butter are melted, stir in the coffee (or booze) and then the egg yolks. Stir quickly to avoid scrambled eggs. Add a spoonful of the whipped egg white to the chocolate goo and stir with a wooden spoon to loosen the mixture. Then add all the chocolate goo to the rest of the egg white and fold with a metal spoon.
Refrigerate overnight.
Its really easy to make, just make sure the egg whites are whipped to proper stiff peaks and the chocolate is melted properly.0 -

What a lovely idea. When I was breastfeeding (a year ago) I was advised that raw egg is fine - a bit like soft cheeses, it's only when you are pregnant that you should avoid them. However, if your friend or her baby's dad have any history of allergic conditions (including asthma or eczema) then I think the advice is to avoid peanuts because of the risk of baby developing a peanut allergy - I don't know whether nutella contains peanuts?0 -
I make this recipe
7 oz bittersweet chocolate, broken into pieces ( I dont like dark chocolate, too bitter for me, so i use half dark half milk choc)
1/2 cup warm water
3 large eggs, separated
3 tablespoons superfine sugar
First of all place the broken-up chocolate pieces and warm water in a large heatproof bowl, which should be placed over a saucepan of barely simmering water, making sure the bowl doesn't touch the water. Then, keeping the heat at its lowest, allow the chocolate to melt slowly - it should take about 6 minutes. Now, remove it from the heat and stir it until it is smooth and glossy; let the chocolate cool for 2-3 minutes before stirring in the egg yolks. Mix it well with a wooden spoon.
Next, in a clean bowl, whisk the egg whites to the soft-peak stage, then whisk in the sugar, about a third at a time; whisk again until the whites are glossy. Now, using a metal spoon, fold a tablespoon of the egg whites into the chocolate mixture to loosen it, then carefully fold in the rest. You need to have patience here - it needs gentle folding and cutting movements so that you retain all the precious air, which makes the mousse light.0 -
I used a large carton of cream - think is 1 pint and pretty much half a glass of nutella (we buy the nutella in a glass so can reuse the glasses for other desserts/drinks) and we got 6 good sized servings! don't like to be stingy...:p
I would just zap the nutella jar and add a couple of tablespoons then taste and add more to suit your taste! Don't forget the raspberries though - they are fab!
Sorry don't have exact quantities - my daughter decided she wanted to make a dessert with nutella and cream ..... and this was the end result!
Oh someone mentioned peanut allergy - I think nutella is just hazelnuts though could use just melted chocolate I suppose if want to avoid nuts?0 -

Hi!!
I've just had a brain wave to make a dessert for some visitors tomorrow and I've got:
4 eggs
cream
cocoa
sugar
not much flour
a bit of milk
can I make a choc mousse?? (quite fancy making that in little separate pots) I can only find recipes with real chocolate. I've found an american one with only cocoa, but also with something called splenda (is that a sweetner??? I've only got normal sugar)
Hope you can help!

I only egg and chocolate in mousse.
Splenda is a sweetener, and I don't think you can substitute sugar (you need a far greater weight of sugar AFAIK)
There are recipe sites where you insert what you have and they give you suggestions. I'll try and find one for you.......
