Hi
Can anyone help with a recipe using cooking chocolate and double cream?
I have no eggs so can I still make a mousse? or maybe you have some more inventive ideas?
Any help greatly appreciated. Bought both really cheap but the cream has todays date on it

Chocolate cream pie.
Make some pastry, line a flan tin and bake blind.
Melt chocolate, stir in cream, pour into flan case and chill.0 -
According to this link you can make an eggless chocolate mouse. I haven't tried it so don't know how good it is.
If you would prefer to wait until you do have eggs you can freeze double cream if you whip it slightly before putting it into the freezer.

Whip double cream to soft peak stage, then stir in a couple of tablespoons of nutella zapped in microwave for a few seconds. Whip again to incorporate the nutella.
Do not overwhip!
spoon into glasses with a few raspberries at bottom and decorate with a few raspberries on top
Place in fridge for about 30 mins if you can resist the urge to scoff the lot!
Yummmmy!
Oh I would eat the choc separatelyor use for brownies!
Can also grate a little over the mousse!

Black Saturn had a recipe involving scalding single cream and then stirring in chocolate to melt, pour into little pots and cool until set. I did it with double cream I needed to use up quickly and it did taste good! I am not sure how the cooking chocolate would be strength of flavour wise, you would just have to taste as you went along-no hardship! Sorry I don't have time to look up the original recipe.0

It must be good, it's French! It'll just be heavier than the egg version, which is not always a bad thing, mousse-wise.0
