I didn't even know that Tesco had hair salons!

I used to get my hair done at Supercuts when I worked full time and was able to go in my lunch break.

These days though, I work part-time and go to a local salon every 5 weeks or so for a haircut that costs me £14.

Think how upset you'd be if they had said they do afro hair, then screwed it up! You dodged a bullet there. Maybe there was one stylist who had experience and has now left, maybe they had grief after someone else with afro hair complained and they decided to make a blanket policy.

Didn't the OP say that her hair isn't AFRO?

Indeed, however whoever was going to do the cut clearly thought it was, and wasn't comfortable doing it - seems a good reason not to have your hair done by them!
