Not noticeable on what I use it for which is not high quality films but just connecting the laptop for catch-up TV etc. (Toshiba SMART platform does not have 4OD or anything other than BBCiPlayer)
It goes around the skirting hidden from view to the TV. I have a Blue-ray via a 1m cable and an older DVD/video player (both) connected to the TV for DVD watching which is connected to the TV via scart.I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.0 -
I am using my laptop already, it's right in front of me and I presently run about a 4m cable to the back of my TV, I also have a usb audio interface connected to my laptop as well for audio purposes. It works very well but I have wires all over the place. If I put the laptop right besides the TV I have no way of controlling what I want to watch without having to get up all the time to change what I wish to watch.0

You could buy a Roku box from currys (£39.99), or a Raspberry Pi and load XBMC onto it (£25 but needs technical knowledge), or an Android USB stick (about £30 upwards)
There's loads of options0 -

No it is not. It may be non-standard but every other reader comprehended what was being written immediately.0
