Accident damage to car

Did your son get plenty of photos of where the cars were at the time of collision?
I have two pictures of the car were it was but mainly focused on the damage to the car were it was parked.
I came home and noticed the son's car was damaged. Asked were it had happened and he had no idea. Thought it may have been college car park.
Green paint on his paint work pointed to the car on the drive opposite but we had no proof. So got the camera out and took the pictures and neighbours were asking who'd done it. Not long after a knock on the door was the guilty party saying it was them. We've also found out one of the neighbours had to wait for the car backing off the drive and bumping the sons car.0 -
Oh, I had presumed he was in the car at the time. Does sound iffy they waited to tell you, personally I would have slipped a note under the wiper or through your letter box.
I'd be straight on the phone to the insurance, even just to notify them.
Can the neighbour not pay the garage directly with a credit card?0 -

Don't know their financial situation but still doubt it.0 -
You do need to tell your own insurer about the incident, though tell them you are not making a claim off them, and you are telling them for information only. Also, you'll probably be obliged to inform your insurer of the incident regardless, but that's one for you to decide on.
Phoned the incident in late today so now have a ref number0 -
Now you have involved the insurance companies. Don't be surprised if your own insurance increases at next renewal, even with a non fault accident.0

Depends on the company. They all ask if you have had any accidents/claims, your fault or not.
Some load the premium some don't.
The fact you have had a few accidents, would make you a greater risk in my book. Maybe your reactions are not quick enough to take avoiding action. Even if you was not to blame.0 -

Last accident was exiting a car park in a queue, driver in front decided to put his 4x4 in reverse rather than 1st. Car behind me so couldn't go anywhere. Beeped my horn, driver kept coming back at me, bang, think the guy had been drinking.
One before I was driving down a small dual carriageway, car shot out of a side road straight across my path, I swerved and braked and my nearside bumper collided with their drivers door.
One before that I was driving down a hill with parked cars stupidly double parked here and there, I stopped to giveway to an oncoming car, driver of a car which was a good distance behind wasn't paying attention and drove in to the rear of me.
Nothing wrong with my reactions and they have saved me many a time, some drivers on the road are just idiots and very careless.0 -
Tomorrow is D day. We'll see if she comes over with the cash or we have to go knocking.
Now if she hasn't got the cash what do we do?
Don't want to claim on our insurance. Would rather go through her insurance so long as she tells us who they are, (we haven't mentioned we know who her insurance is with yet). But she refuses what do we do?0 -
I thought she was paying on July 15th?
I'm puzzled why you want to go through her insurance and not your own, you still have to tell your insurance you've had a bump.
You also may have a problem if she doesn't come round with the cash and you have to contact your/hers insurance. I'm pretty certain my insurance says I have to contact them asap when I'm involved in an accident whether I'm claiming or not.0
