yes because predjadice is not an acceptable answer it wouldnt be accepted in areas of race or diabilaty so why here?

    BAAB,

I think the point is that sadly, people are prejudiced, in the way that is being demonstrated here. We bankrupts need to learn to live with it, annoyingly.

Hmmm....maybe we should follow the stereo types you talk of and play the system (as the compay that liquidated leaving us without payment, and yet paying themselves gross amounts of money). Its worth considering that maybe my oh should lie through his teeth when applying for jobs?

I have to admit that maybe you are right BH in your choices, but I think with all that has been said I would like to swap forum names with you.

Anyway - dh didnt get the job that he really wanted today Ive just heard. They were quite a large corporate organisation, so maybe its better this way.

After this thread I feel like a thief...just when you cant get any lower...

Yes the problem seems to be people don't like the answer.

    NO I DONT!

as far as your comment on Preventing bankrupcy?? WHAT A LOAD OF RUBBISH god knows I wish I could have had prevented my bankrupcy, even surviving on less than a couple of pounds a week after STILL PAYING my debts on a reduced wage I tried to struggle on by, but suppose a decline in my health and the loss of my job was all my fault as well?

    NME,

Please don't take any notice of Bh's comments, I feel fairly certain that she's a very unhappy person looking to spread some of her misery around.

I for one am :j :j at being able to get on with my life without the shackles of previous mistakes.

    Can I just ask?

Why do such self righteous people post on here?

There must be forums for, say, "Paid all my bills on time, arent I clever?"

Maybe the people on here are just nicer? I dont know that I would post on a forum about something that I abhor so strongly.... I would be far too busy with friends - forum/RL...
  • My fault i'm about to be bankrupt.?
My fault my husband left me with a young baby to look after?
My fault i couldn't afford home content insurance, then got burgled, loosing everything?
My fault someone stole my car and set it alight?
My fault i lost my job?
My fault i tried to feed and clothes us and keep us warm, but nothing more?
My fault i'm in this mess???
NONE of my money problems are my fault but i have to take all the flack, humiliation and embaressement for all these things.

As for the original question, how are you supposed to help yourself if someone won't employ you?
Criminals, who've done awful things come out of prison and get help finding work!
The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter :(

    NME,

That is a question that a lot of us have asked over the last few months, and has even driven some people with an awful lot to give, away from this site.

It's the downside of humanity; it's envy, jealousy, it's pernicious small mindedness, and as you say self righteousness, and to be perfectly honest it's a load of utter contemptible nonsense.

I love it when people take a "swipe" at me, it just confirms that they know, what I have an unshakeable belief in; and that is, my ability to take the sh1te, dust myself down and get on with enjoying life and earning money.

I have regrets, we've lost things that hurt to lose, I've upset people that I'd rather not have upset, I've caused consternation to family and friends when I would rather have not done, but the absolute "bottom line" is, that it's almost impossible to go through life without making mistakes; unless of course you take the path of least ressistance.

It's a compliment to you that you attract negative comment, as it is to the other people on here who have to suffer it. Humanity has a great capacity for cruelty and kindness and those diametrically opposed positions are all too evident on this Board.

the world is full of judgemental biggots...the shame is most of them hang around here pretending to be experts on bankrupcy, i've been around here for a while now & received THE best support I could ever have from most of the good guys/gals all I wanted to do was to help others & pass on my experience in any way I could...but thanks to the mentality of people like BH I have on many times considered leaving MSE and never posting again but didn't because the nice posts made up for all the namecalling/hassle/backbites/character assassination...now I think is the time to pack my bags and go

The trouble with posts like this is that they hit a raw nerve with us. What starts as a feasible question soon turns nasty when the OP doesn't get the answer they hoped for, and when it does we should all just walk away from it. I have just read this thread and I could see what was going to happen half way down page 1.
