Thaks NekoZombie you put it so much better than I did.

As to why I wouldn't hire a BR it's a trust issue the only people I need to employ are carers and they would be virtualy alone in my home.

So...what your saying then is all bankrupts cant be trusted?...each to there own I suppose...although in my job before I became too Ill to continue my employer was well aware of my bankrupcy, I handled cash & budgets as wel as visited patients in their own homes for treatment..just because i'm a bankrupt dont mean I want to steal the family silver or strip the house bear while your backs turned..

Just to clarify; if I was hiring someone for a caring position, the fact that they were bankrupt would have nothing at all to do with my decision. I was thinking more in a corporate environment. Also, I wasn't saying it was right.

what do you mean by the stuff in bold? I'm sure it isn't meant to be offensive, but it seems a little harsh.

it's thanks to people like you my self esteem & confidence is shot to pieces...I dont have to explain myself to anyone or earn anybodys trust as long as I work hard & do a good job at the end of the day thats enough

But surely somebody with gambling or debt problems statistically would be more likely to have their "fingers in the till"??

This thread was started to find out WHY people don't want to employ bankrupts . Its not about whether it's right or wrong.

Putting it that way makes no sense BH
If you where faced with two people to employ, one a bankrupt, the other someone with 35k of debt and strugling to make the paymants whos more likely to steal from you?

im sorry but what you have just said has nothing to do with trust im afraid and has more to do with predjudice
If I answered that I'd be torn to shreads on here.

I guess you *have* just answered that. But surely you don't mean it? As I said in my post, I used to think a certain way about bankrupts, but this has changed, not only through becoming one myself but also through using sites like MSE. I feel I am much more informed about the process and the people who go through it.

BH, being a member of DFW, you know better than the average person what bankruptcy is really about; surely that should pre-empt any irrational thought about bankrupts being untrustworthy.
