Sadly Oldham council don't appear to let you search for historical applications online.

Not so sure about that, Hovite?

    Another ex-customer:-

Just like to say a massive thank you to the staff at the Rochdale Entwistle rd branch. For showing no compassion when a 85yr old lady lost her car key, the amazing staff not only didn't care, they wouldn't even allow her to use a phone to ring her grand son. She had to ask a complete stranger to use a mobile phone. So cheers guys for the Christmas spirit n shove your shop where the sun doesn't shine. I and my family will now boycott this store. She was left stood outside in freezing conditions. Well done!!!

And, as somebody has commented, she will probably get a Parking Eye ticket as well.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

this branch has no parking issues at all, so it purely a a PE fund raising exercise.

When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Could get even worse, how many people "did" buy it believing it to be Halal?
  • I could understand (possibly) the error in boxing for just the Halal bit. Mistakes happen. But how do you make a mistake with the country of origin if the turkeys are packaged in the country of origin?
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
  • Our local Aldi was packed out yesterday, it took AGES to find anything and struggle thro' the crowds , trolleys and the pallets loaded with stuff. When I got to the checkouts which had very long queues we were directed to an empty one, then waited a good 10 minutes for a cashier to take her post. There were also queues of people trying to register their car numbers in the machine on the way out (more time wasted for the motorist) All this would'nt matter, except if I had come in the car I would have been fined, as the whole operation took 1 hour 39 minutes, 9 minutes over the allotted time thro' no fault of mine.

I didn't think the country of origin was in question, they are from Chile and marked as such. Aldi only advertise their fresh meat as being 100% British.

As for the Halal aspect, products should be correctly labelled and people are bound to be suspicious following the recent scares.

But for people who are buying cheap, intensively farmed meat to complain about inhumane slaughter methods is, quite frankly, ridicules.

These birds would have been kept in the worst conditions imaginable and the cruelty of the slaughter would pale into insignificance compared to the cruelty these birds have had to endure whilst alive.

By all means exercise the right to not buy Halal, but they shouldn't think they are alleviating animal suffering if they still buy cheap supermarket meat (which lets face it is what you get at Aldi).

Personally I would rather buy high welfare meat that has had as natural life as possible and slaughtered by Halal methods, than intensively, factory farmed meat, slaughtered by more "humane" methods.
