Latest CPW/e2save cashback 'con'...O2
Options
As you know CPW is the billing agent for O2 contracts with them/e2save.
There are reams on here about the despicable conduct of these companies with respect to trying to avoid cashbacks. Their latest 'con' seems to be:-
1. they stop sending you paper bills...actually a breach of the DD mandate unless you agree;
2. then either prevent on-line access to your account or claim they won't accept your print off...despite specifically stating you can submit such.
Of course a certain percentage of customers will just shrug and take it no furthere.
You just have to wonder how many people they have thinking up these 'cons'. Surely it would be cheaper just to do business honestly.

to be fair I've never had problems sending online bills to cpw and e2save. Just make sure your cashback terms and conditions state they will accept them.
The new "pricematch" deals don't accept these, its always a good idea to get written (email) confirmation from them on these aspects and if all else fails threaten legal action.ummm...0 -
You know the "Bill number" at the top of every monthly statement? two months ago my statements jumped from 6 to 8!!!
CPW couldn't amment, and I attached a letter explaining and got the checque no probras at that time... was time for another cheque now and attached another letter explaining the issue but the guys got confused and have refused to pay!
I am sending them another letter to explain the issue... Will keep you posted0 -
Because of mobileshop's conduct I'm almost certainly not going to take out my next contract from them and will probably be going to sign up at cpw. The only reason I'm choosing cpw is that they are a big company and are less likely to go bust. However from reading some threads about them I see that as soon as you start viewing your bills online they stop sending out paper bills, a ploy that xman has just commented on is probably a way to stop you claiming your cashbacks. G33za said something about sending them online bills and I want to know if that means it is possible for some cpw contracts to allow you to send bills via email? Or do you have to go through with all the hassle of printing them out yourself and posting them.
I would really want to be able to check how many minutes I have left each month online but do not want to lose paper billing.
p.s. Can you check your remaining minutes by calling them and still retain paper bills? This situation may be a suitable compromise for me.0 -

I don't think cpw accepts any bills by email. You have to print off your bills and post them.
An alternative to this would be to contact customer services by email, and ask them to send u a pdf copy of your bill. Do this 2-3 days after your billing date as the bill needs time to be generated. This pdf is in the same format as the paper bill, and I have been doing this for some time as it shows the Postal address and contract details in a more organized manner.
And yes, you can check remaining minutes over the phone, and still retain paper bills. However, their billing system isn't up to the minute, and can usually take 48-72 hours to reflect usage. So don't trust the billing system. Just use your phone Call counter to track usage and reset before your next billing date starts. Also with regard to this, o2 cpw customers have their minutes renewed 2 days before their billing date. So i usually reset mine two days before the billing date.0 -
OP, whats that got to do with cashback con? The points you raise has nothing to do with it. Online billing is better as you get your bills faster. Problem with paper bill is postal delays or lost mail meaning, either way, paper bill will take longer.0

Just so you know I have an o2/cpw contract taken out from cpw which is billed by cpw, I switched to online billing so checking minutes would be a lot easier (although there is another way to do this using an 0800 number). The t&c for this particular cashback deal did state I could print off online versions of my bill and post those in.
In fact last year I had 2 other cpw/o2 lines and did the same. Unfortunately you can't email them in, you have to send it in the post (recorded).ummm...0 -

I knew about this... so I just saved my online bill, edit it in notepad, change the bill number to correct one and send away.
Here is how you can do it easily.- Save the file in email attachment. Or save the printable online bill to desktop
- Open notepad and click "File > Open"
- Change "Files of Type" option to "All Files"
- Locate the html file you saved and open it
- Click "Edit > Find" and enter "Invoice Number"
- A few lines above "Invoice Number" you will see something like "left:730;">11</div>"
- Change the number to your desired invoice number, remember to change only the number inside brackets "> <"
- Repeat Search and Change, it is mentioned two times
- Save File and close notepad
- Open this File by double clicking, it will open in internet browser
- Print a Copy and Send away
If this sounds jargon to you I am happy to explain more.0 -
I'm not a heavy user and will hardly ever get close to using up all my monthly minutes so it won't matter so much if I call cpw to find out my usage and it is a few days out of date. So I think I'll avoid online billing until they allow you to retain your paper bills.0
