I've paid for two tyres now I've been told that the price I paid was for one only??

I smell Troll.
A surprisingly large number of people join MSE, post a moral dilemma like this one and then disappear, never to be heard from again.
Maybe it is a regular poster who wanted to ask this question anonymously.
Or maybe I'm just getting too cynical in my old age.

Could be a ploy to keep the forums active

Although I slightly agree, it would be on the retailer to prove the price agreed before payment was taken. We don't have an invoice to show the price agreed and the receipt to show the price paid, we have a combination of both, therefore the receipt shows the price requested and the customer has proof that he paid the price requested.
The contract can be cancelled/voided if a mistake is detected (for example, buying from an e-commerce store where it is obvious that the price was incorrect, but within reason, see the Kodak story where they were forced to sell £330 cameras for £100 by trading standards) .0 -

Paying for one tyre that you know you owe money on, is far cheaper than replacing 4 tyre's each with a 3 inch gash down the side.
There's something to be said for honesty.
So this tyre company is a gang of thugs, who are they?,Ithink we should be warned:eek:0 -
not really, there is not a lot of profit in tyres.Companies often overcharge it's customers and they don't lose sleep over it, I say keep the money:T
when you weigh in the time it takes to look for the locking wheel nut, removal and fitting of wheel to the car and the tyre to the wheel you then have balancing where some wheels want over 100g, this is not charged by the gram so eats into the profit margin. Profit is about £2 depending on how much the tyre cost the fitting company.0 -

£2 profit?! LOL! as if.
If the OP has a receipt then keep hold if it.0 -

oh sorry I forgot, you just put the new tyre next to the wheel, the old tyres jumps off and rolls on to the tyre wall and the new tyre jumps on. oh and then the whole wheel jumps on the balancer and balances itself.
when you factor in the how much fitter is paid and how long it takes to change a tyre the profit to the company is not a lot0 -

I know where I'm going when I need new tires fitted :rotfl::rotfl:I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
