Missed that little snippet and have just, on Saturday, renewed mine :mad:Have you got a cooling down period? Is it worth the hassle of exercising your right under the cooling down period? How much would you gain?
Less than £36 saving for me, but I've got good protected NCD, low excess etc so won't bother this year but will definitely bear in mind next year

On a general point about car and/or home insurance: don't assume that a 20% discount is the best you can get. Use a couple of comparison sites, then when you found the most attractive offer (which isn't necessarily the cheapest), check what cashback you would get via Quido/TCB.
I got an amazing deal for my car insurance that way in January.
Having said this, Nationwide gave me an equally amazing deal for Buildings/Contents insurance. That was an offer that had popped up in my account. T&Cs were all they I would expect, and the premium was lower than anything an comparison site would offer me.
Most definitely worth shopping around.
Good guides on the main site, e.g. http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/car-insurance/

I see the Car Insurance is subject to a minimum premium of £225 for comprehensive policies. As I paid less than this anyway and will get about £35 for going through Quidco, it seems that Santander would be more expensive.0 -
true and without knowing your premium it was always going to be a guess. you had any letters from sanny yet?0

No problem - it was a good idea to let me know as I may not have noticed it and could have been useful.you had any letters from sanny yet?
Yes I got the Welcome letter today and the PIN for the card - no card as yet and no details for online banking. I assume these will follow on.0 -
yes they will jem, theres another 3 letters to come if I remember correctly, each letter has different codes on it for your phone and online banking, do not be tempted to sign up for online banking - this has been done for you when you applied for the account, all these details will arrive soon, mostly daily from now.0

I shall look out for them.
I did have online banking with Abbey (as they once were) but account long closed and I can't remember the details anyway. I'm hoping they don't think I still have them and that they still apply!0 -
Anyone thinking of opening more than one of these, it seems that ship is about to sail: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/46579610
