I would suggest disregarding the use of a 'pram' and invest in a wheelbarrow. I find these more efficient in transporting an infant as it is easier to build up reckless speeds for their enjoyment. It is also convenient for it's agility and sharper turning to push your way through crowds when in a supermarket doing your shopping, for example. None of this being held up behind folks when you're cruising with a wheelbarrow.
Once you have adjusted to using a wheelbarrow to cruise your child around in, it may be of your interest to look up getting an engine fitted on it to reach those high speeds. This would be brilliant for your child's enjoyment and would also assist him/her in building up a 'cool kid' reputation amongst his friends so be sure to take him/her in built up areas to make sure they are seen.
Would be no need for a car seat as a decent wheelbarrow model, I assume, would conveniently attach onto the back of your car similar to a trailer.0 -

Another vote for the Uppababy Vista. Love mine and a little bit gutted that my son has almost grown out of the bassinette part. xPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000
There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man.0 -
I too have an Uppababy Vista. The large shopping basket is a godsend, it's sturdy but still turns on a sixpence. Only downside is it's a tad wide and sometimes I struggle in small shops and on buses but that's just minor for me as the benefits far outweigh the negatives. I love it!Have I helped? Feel free to click the 'Thanks' button. I like to feel useful (and smug).0

To those with the Uppababy Vista - what colour did you get and how has it worn?
I am loving the Lindsey/Wheat colour but wonder if it will get messy and I might regret it in a year or so.
Also, how does the black frame wear - does it scratch badly?
Thanks!:)0 -
Thanks for all the replies!!
I dotn have a free weekend till the 6th July but have now been reccomended :
the Graco quattro travel system delux
The Quinny
and the mamas and papas sport
anyone else used these? pro and cons welcome...
I had a Graco Quattro, it was an absolute beastly zeppelin of a thing! It folded down huge and was a nightmare to store. If storage isn't a problem and you have a car that is mainly all boot then you should be alright. It filled the boot of my car and I couldn't squeeze anything in around it. It was ok to push though.
Which Quinny did you mean? I've had a Zapp and a Buzz. Buzz was lovely to push but I kept getting punctures at the most terrible of times. The basic Zapp I had was great for using as a frame with a car seat for quick errands. It folded down tiny and was very easy to push one handed. There's a newer one out now which is parent facing, never had one though.0 -
I got the Green (Carlin) and it's still looking great.
I don't know about the black frame as mine is from early 2012 so still the silvery frame
but it's looking amazing...
and another pro, is the viewing flap on top. my 17 month old now wants to face forward and that flap lets me keep an eye on her and say hello when she looks at me0 -

Thanks! I saw the green, I think they are discontinuing it actually. OH wasn't keen though, although I quite liked it. It's between black, silver (quite light) and wheat (also quite light).0 -
I wouldnt spend too much on a pram. My daughter only fit in hers for 6 months then it was useless. I also wouldnt spend too much on a buggy because therw are some people (like me) who end up buying lots of them to find the perfect one! In 2 years I had 1 pram, 2 carriers and 7 buggies!1,2 & 5p: Christmas day food £9.31
10 & 20p: misc savings £2.70
50p: Christmas presents £3.50
£2: holidays £2.000 -
I currently have a Joolz day and I love it! Its the longest seat you can buy so lasts for ages, the seat is high up so you can use as a highchair if needed when out. It pushes lovely-like with 1 finger lol. Its got fab suspension so will go anywhere. Handle goes nice and high. You can get extension for the hood that covers Baby more and can also open out to reveal a UV net to cover Baby. The sleeping bag (footmuff) is great and also really long so can be used for ages. The downside is the basket is tiny (You can buy the XL shopping bag though which I did but I dont use it as dont like it) and I have the black frame and it does mark through use which annoys me but other than that its fab!
I also have the 2011 maclaren XT which again I love.
Can also vouch for the icandy apple and Bugaboo cam-tho I have got rid of both of those as didnt love them as much as the Joolz..
I also second the find which you want and search ebay/facebook etc for a 2nd hand one. You will find that the higher end prams especially are well looked after so whent hey get sold they are still in top condition..She has the loaded handbag of someone who camps out and seldom goes home, or who imagines life must be full of emergencies..0
