Less than 2 years old driving license, and got 3 points

Hi there
i am really sorry, if this query is relevant in this section of forum.
my query is:
I had my driving license in 2011 october, and last week i got 3 points for speeding.

i know that my point limit is 6 point due to less than 2 years old license.
but my question is by october 2013 it will be 2 years of my license. so will my points limit will increase to 12.

I hope you all got my query.. i am really worried, i dont want to lose my license,, i learnt my lesson, no never speeding again!!!

thanking you in anticipation!!!

I believe your points limit will rise in October.

You'd better drive carefully between now and October!

    hey, take heart.....

I've had a licence since 1969....and vocational categories since 1972 [PSV and HGV, as they were then]....within 3 years of taking my car test, I had two 'endorsements' as they were then....3 and you're out!

When they got converted to points, and endorsement was calculated at 4 points, not 3! Luckily I kept the 'active total' to under 6! I still didn't 'learn' until 15 years later! Wasn't until mid 1980's that I finally got the message.

And that was driving, all day, every day, not half an hour, morning and night!

    So lots of exposure, lots more opportunities to not watch what I was doing [thought I knew better anyway?}

Now, since doing my present job, I am compelled to review my attitudes.

    And it ain't hard, either!

A little less about 'me', and a little bit more about 'others'....
No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......

Driving since 2011, you've still much to learn on where your likely to find speed camera's.

They're not placed based on the level of danger to drivers or pedestrians, they're placed where drivers are likely to be confused by speed limits or where they're paying attention to other things (like the road ahead and junctions/etc). Over a blind crest on a dual carriageway, very likely where there are merge points, because drivers inevitable get caught up in racing each other for the merge.
Any road where the limit seems far too low, consider it to be a trap and slow right down.

Around where I live, they love nothing more than reducing a random 60 limit to 40 and then camping out with a talivan for a few months.
It's not the Police, it's the local "initiative" trying to meet profit targets.

You should be paying attention and driving to the limits and road conditions, please don't take the lazy approach and turn into another 42mph driver.
If these ^^ fools didn't exist, there would be a massive reduction in the number of risky overtaking manoeuvres and a corresponding drop in accident rates.

Remember, the only reason why speed limits are in place is because drivers cannot be trusted to behave responsibly.

So, if one doesn't like, or see the point of, a certain speed limit, don't blame the authorities...blame the driver in front, or the driver behind..or even, oneself?

After all, we as individuals damned well want every other driver to comply when we need them to?

So, next time one's kids appear to be endangered by apparently inconsiderate drivers......just think about what we ourselves do, elsewhere?

Next time we are stuck at a junction, trying to get out, and can only see a short distance....that's when we say 'thanks' for speed limits?

And want everyone else to comply?

But this is the point, they don't regulate speed near schools or in area's where children could be at risk. They put silly limits and cameras on quiet/wide/roads, where only a complete moron would be able to crash.
I see plenty of idiots belting past schools and down residential streets, they know full well they'll never get caught.

I'd fully support these speed cameras if it wasn't so damn obvious that it's all about targets and profit.

As for pulling out, I don't know about near you, but around here if you pull out into a gap, the next car along will speed up and sit on your rear bumper giving you abusive hand gestures. Around here most people wait until there is no car in sight.

Round here they can get very sneaky , it was a portable camera mounted on a tripod, but as the plod operating it have by law to wear high vis jackets he had set it up adjoining a bus shelter and he was sitting in the bus shelter hidden, fortunately there was heavy traffic and no one was getting near to doing 30.

You've summed up the driver attitudes that lead to speed limits in the first place very well.

Don't forget...what is blindingly obvious to you isn't in the slightest bit obvious to a thousand other drivers.

One of the main reasons we have 'accident-black-spots'...for example?

Why is it of such concern that these devices should be highly visible?

Has 'flouting-the-Law' become some sort of game?

And the police, or others, when not in plain view, are somehow 'cheating?'

Personally I have no problem with speed detection devices acquiring as much money off drivers as they can. Payment is optional?

Too many drivers are riding around with 'sucker' tattooed backwards on their foreheads. [or, they should have!]

The plod certainly do NOT have to wear hi-viz jackets by law.

    its an interesting view
why should it matter where they are in a 30 zone?
