It really is.
My dress sounds very similar to yours..those 50s dresses are beautiful aren't they, im so excited to get it! :j
I've got converse to wear for the reception, but opted for some pumps during the ceremony as I don't think I have the nerve to withstand all of the withering glances I know I will get. Oh its daft isnt it
I love 1950's fashion! I always knew I wanted a shorter dress and they fit the bill perfectly! I wanted an Audrey (as in Audrey Hepburn) dress at first, but they only had white and not ivory.
I know what you mean re the Converse! When they arrive I'll try everything all on together and then decide wether I'll wear them or get a pair of shoes for the ceremony and then wear them afterwards.0 -
It's already nearly turned me back to smoking today, I'm not joking either, 3 years and a 100 and something days since i quit, and I nearly bought a packet of fags today!
Btw, Georgiegirl, stay strong, don't let them undo all the hard work you've put in giving up!!!!
Thanks angel!I'm being good
Although I walked past a woman smoking and I was like 'Hmmmm breathe that in!'

I married a few years ago now but reading this back or the stress and heart ache it caused has come flooding back!
We also paid for our own wedding which was in the end or so I thought a fantastic day for all however along the way I lost my best friend/ MOH as she was jealous (later confirmed by a mutual friend) but by then to late. I argued constantly with my mum over who I shouldn't invite. Sorry but I'm not inviting their friends I don't know just because they want My Day my Money!! I had lots of OH family decline as we didn't/could not afford children and then on the day 2 couples just didn't turn up!?!?
I think people forget who's day it is. Deep breath and ignore everyone hard I know but your day will be fantastic.0 -
We've just booked our wedding for July 2014, all on our own funds! My mum has since offered us £500 but with demands of being in on all the wedding planning decisions! I was shocked and quickly compromised that she could p
Be in charge of bridesmaid dresses and organising fittings and accessories but with the colour scheme I give her, she seems happy with this.
I never realised until then that giving money towards the wedding bought you a stake and a sayI have a lot to learn!
