Best Win of 2019 - Forest Holiday0 -
Good morning everybody, looks like it is going to be very hot here today as the sun is already out. Going to DD1's later today to help here with some paperwork.
When we go to DD2's there is a peacock that sits on a nearby garage just across the road, they are very noisy but very beautiful. Have a nice breakfast and a lovely walk and enjoy the rest of your stay.
Hoe you have a lovely day at the races Walwin and maybe a win would be good too.
Naughty sparrowhawks firefly, best keep away from the window as you say until they have cleared off.
You were up early again Alfie, wish I could manage to get up early I could get a lot more done.
Hope you are not trying to get out of having a party iluvcats, you know how we love a party in the Inn :rotfl::rotfl: Good luck with the lottery anyway.
Have a lovely day everyone and get lucky.BIG THANKS TO ALL WHO POST THE COMPETITIONS0 -
Well .... been out, back done and dusted, all windows, doors opened and fans on the go cos it is getting mighty hot!!! Didn't get petrol cos local garage to busy, Jalopy is ok for the mo, shan't be going far in this heat!!!
Seems there may be red alert soon here:eek::eek: So many tragic accidents re water etc and it seems many peeps not heeding warnings etcNo hosepipe ban yet but they are saying take care with use of water ............. consumption has gone into mega drive since start of heatwave. Just watering what is necessary really with can.
ff - yes them sparrowhawks - beautiful birds but they hover here way up above (wish I had their eyesight!) and then swoop down and pick off wee field mice, or voles maybe? It's nature I know but I can't look
Sheils: very jealous of your cooked breakfast!!!Love a cooked breakfast but only if it's cooked for me!!! Buffet breakfasts are like a magnet to me - always overload me plate!!! Hash browns are a particular yummy yes yes!!!!
ILC - you are way ahead of me with euro!!!!! Will do it for tomorrow and if I win (:D), won't be needing to enter on 26th!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Glass always half 'full' here!!!

fans /coolers on here as well ready alfie :j
sad when people don't heed the warnings about
the water etc
yes, the sparrowhawks are beautiful birds,
the one that frequents here reg swoops down &
comes quite close to the building with her prey but as soon as she spots us or someone makes a noise she's off,
does a good job off keeping the pigeons down but like you I don't like to see it happening
& am keeping away from the window sylv
you were making me hungry sheils
decided to have boiled egg for brekky
before it gets to hot to eat anything
good luck for the lottos both :j:jplease be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.0 -
Morning all
Seems some of you are having weather like ours here in Crete! or hotter in fact.
Been a bit overcast last couple of days and sea is too rough for swimming but still hot at about 30 degrees.
Sheils, know what you mean about peacocks being noisy-we had 3 of them when we lived in Argyll. Neighbour across the river was always complaining about them wakening him early as they roosted in the tree opposite his house - luckily we didn't hear them :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Had a slow start to July but picking up now with some nice wee wins.
Good luck to all for some WEMs0 -
Know what you mean ff about food!
Managed to get this morn some more locally grown strawberries again and natural yog - seem to be living on this sort of thing at the mo!!!
Also got a favourite pizza and some golden rice with peppers etc (microwave - suits me!). Will do half pizza today and tomorrow. But the shops are fairly running out of things - salad etc ....... deliveries coming and going - just have to get the timing right!!
Worst thing, forest/heathland fires recently apparently started deliberately by 'no brainers' in these awful dry conditions:( Habitat destroyed - will take 20 years or more to recover the ground and the critters who have lived there for many years have been wiped out!!!!
Police are on the case.) It's been rarely if at all I use the angry thing, but I am now :mad:
What is wrong with the people who do this?Indications suggest it was most def deliberate - they tried 3-4 times before they got a good fire going!!:eek::( So sad
Flipping b

Morning all  No grumps from DD this morning but I'm expecting 6 wks of it when they break up tomorrow!
There was a massive hedgehog walking past our house last night but it looked like it was limping and a cat was nearby waiting for it. Son run out to chase cat and take it some water but it dissapeared somewhere. Poor hedgehog, hope it got away safely!
Enjoy your day at the races walwin and hope its a lucky one!
Sheils, I like a cooked brekkie whenever I'm away anywhere but never when I'm at home! (Must be the idea of cooking it!) Enjoy yours!
Hope the sparrow hawk hasn't killed anything off fire**fly.I hate seeing dead animals!
Have a nice time at DD's Sylvia.I bet you'll be spoiling the GK's!
Alfie you'll have to have a nana nap later if youve been up that early! You'll be like me....keep falling asleep while comping!
Sorry we've nicked your weather ellemm! We're not used to this kind of weather for long periods! Are you staying in Crete till end of summer?
Thanks for reminder ILC of big euroWouldn't it be nice if all us Inners became overnight millionaires?
I would be happy with £50,000 to sort house out from top to bottom and have a luxury hol with the family
Aw that's awful Alfie. And that's before the school hols start.
Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!0 -
