Greetings from Brighton. Having a lovely weekend. The weather has been great, picked up some great bargains in the sales and caught up with friends. Meeting some more friends for Sunday lunch today. The friend I'm staying with is still asleep in his bedroom but he's working tomorrow on a 12 hour shift so i'll leave him be and knock his door 1 hour before we're due to leave if he hasn't surfaced by then!!

    hiya paadzer

Hi everyone, didn't get back from Rome until midnight so had a lie in ;) but ever since have been trying to catch up on 5 days of comps, have gone through 81 pages to where I left off on Monday

We had a great time in Rome, amazing city but expensive to eat out. Worst cafe we had a juice in charged 7euros for a Fanta

At least most of the tourist places were reasonably priced and in fact we got into the Coliseum for free :T Took our passports so we could get the concession price but were delighted not to have to pay anything.

It's nice, though, to be back in our wee quiet village in Crete after all the hustle and bustle of the city.

Glad you are having a great time in Brighton Baadzer.

Glad you had a nice town in Rome Ellemm. Enjoy the rest of your stay in Crete. I am really struggling to keep up with the comps at the moment. Everytime I think I have cracked it family come and I am back to square one.

Wingo - glad it wasn't just me about the icecream. There are such a mixture of different peeps on here it is nice to know the different names everyone calls things.

Well I thought it was going to rain today but has turned out lovely.

Spent most of the morning cooking with GD. Cheated and got a packet cake mix for her only to have knocked the oven dial and burnt them and had to start again and make them from my own recepie. That will teach me to be lazy. We have make a massive quiche as well and will have it with salad when the they come to pick her up as they are always starving. It is hard to cater for 5+s
2 when you only usually cater for 2 especially when they just happen to drop in at tea time.

Still we have had a lovely weekend with her and she has been a delight and its gives her a break from her brother who has Autism.

Must get on and finish the meal before they arrive.

BIG THANKS TO ALL WHO POST THE COMPETITIONS

Will try and post some pics of my dogs Lisa soon. Loved it when we had our Siamese though they were fantastic characters. Unless you have had one you think they are just a cat and don't quite understand.

I'd like to see your photos. (Perhaps others might kindly post their pets' photos too?)

And yes, I agree. They are extra intelligent and very crafty! I remember someone saying that he thought Siamese were sort of a cross between a cat, a dog, and a monkey! Mine have always fetched (their favourite usually being runner beans, for some reason...) And when you have two, the fun really begins. I had a chocolate point and a lilac tabby point several years ago, and one would open the cupboard door in the kitchen and hold it open while the other would attempt to steal food out of the cupboard! They managed to get hold of the remains of our Christmas turkey one year by one of these methods...
