They cancelled ? It was meant to get a popla code, they must be fed up of losing there everytime they go there when its defended properly ;) well done by the way

Well done OP, well done Stroma.

Seems that PPCs might be wising up to what will inevitably be a nasty boot in the gonads from POPLA as they start to recognise initial appeal wording as having emanated via MSE/PePiPoo and the then likelihood of a cataclysmic, forum-fuelled defeat delivered by their 'independent' appeals panel.

Hit the skull hard enough with a lump hammer and eventually even the terminally stupid start to get the message.

Stroma's 'pay £27+ VAT to POPLA to find out' did the trick then! :T

The PPC knew from that wording that it's a 'forum appeal' and they thought they either had no chance of winning, or the cost of the POPLA fee plus the hefty evidence pack they'd have to produce in response to one of our appeals wasn't worth it!

Maybe there should be a footnote on every initial appeal:

Advised by and prepared with expert assistance from MoneySavingsExpert.com/Pepipoo.com

As per June 2013, there's a Version 3 of the BPA Code of Practice. I don't know if there are significant changes in this regard though.

Thanks for the challenge template, I've just adapted it a bit and sent it (by email to tesco@appealpcn.co.uk)

    Hi,

Just wanted to say I read this as I was about to pay fine for overstaying as couldn't be faffed to fight it. Anyway felt all fired up so copied Stromas initial appeal letter (with a nicer salutation!), emailed it and have had appeal upheld and confirmation notice cancelled - from one email. So a big thanks guys, very grateful for saving me £40+

    Jay

I did the same (copied Stoma's initial appeal letter) and have had a reply saying that they won't issue a POPLA code as they are not obliged to do so until I make an appeal detailing the specific reasons for making an appeal along with any evidence to support it. Any advice please?

    Rubbish!

However, you can write back saying that you are appealing on the following:-

    from the BPA COP
    Contrast and illumination
There must be enough colour contrast between the text and its background, each of which should be a single solid colour. The best way to achieve this is to have black text on a white background, or white text on a black background. Combinations such as blue on yellow are not easy to read and may cause problems for drivers with impaired colour vision.

or you believe that the text sizes are less than recommended by BPA

That is a reason, even if you don't use it at POPLA.

Reply then as you do want your POPLA code!

Summat like this (although I do believe in treating a PPC with the disdain they deserve, rather like baiting a phishing emailer!):

    Dear Sirs,

    Re fake PCN number xxxxxxx

An interesting stalling response from you which I will add to my POPLA submission then!

It is not for you to tell me what to put in my challenge, and you are obliged to consider it and within 35 days reject it and give me my POPLA code - and surely you will reject it; 'PPC World' always do. You may not like it; the BPA may not like it, but that's the effect of the POFA 2012 and POPLA ('be careful what you wished for' is a phrase that springs to mind).

Want a reason? OK, no 'radioactive spiders' or 'zombie apocalypse' excuses from me (amusing though Parking Prankster's blog is). I will state that your charge is punitive and purely a revenue-raising exercise, as you well know. POPLA code please, or cancel it. MSE waits with baited breath for you to hit the 'computer says no' button...

    the Keeper.

    :)

By the way you do know not to write a short challenge at POPLA stage I hope? Do read up on strong POPLA challenge examples, in readiness. Loads on threads here.

    Another showstopper C-M.

    She's good......... very good.

Great stuff. Go with that OP, get it off soonest and we can then help you with a very likely win at POPLA.

Have a look at The Parking Prankster's blog, he's running Highview ragged. This is one where Highview screwed up the map of the car park they're supposed to be managing.

    http://parking-prankster.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/highview-parking-send-in-map-of-wrong.html

Here's another one where The Prankster thought they were playing parking poker with him.

    http://parking-prankster.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/parking-poker-highview-parking-take-on.html

And this is where a radio active spider bite gave The Prankster super powers to defeat parking tickets (including beating Highview at POPLA - again)

    Have a chuckle :)
