    Incorrect!

And thanks for the detail around that response!

So where does it go then for those three days? Into the ether? Falls off the edge of the world?

It leaves your bank account and it doesnt arrive in the other for three days, so rest assured its to benefit them and not you

It goes through the same cheque clearing cycle that all the banks use. And contrary to what you believe this does not include sitting in a bank account gathering interest.

So how can Ulster Bank do it with their own cheques?
Why can't the others clear their own cheques instantly?

Can`t compete with the bigger nationals and internationals, their internet banking is also really frustrating..

I'm with both Danske and Ulster Bank. I've found the Danske website is very slow, badly laid out, so much so that if it was my first time to use online banking, it would have been my last. I had already used online banking with Ulster bank, and found their website really easy to use in comparison.

Ulster bank online and app no problem .

Danske bank I have yet to get working on my laptop. Sticks for ages at java applet started or something. The app works fine apart from every bloody time I want to transfer money even to an account used plenty of times before I have to key in a code off a crappy plastic card.

Also I was in lurgan danske bank yesterday. One person on the till. Luckily I was next in line so thought it would be quick. Unfortunately not. I was stood waiting for ten minutes while the current customer was dealing with the cashier over something.
3 staff I could clearly see at the top having a chinwag. One guy propping himself up against the wall casually with his hands in his pockets laughing with the other 2.
When it was my turn I looked up towards them and said to the cashier "are you understaffed today" I think she got the idea what i was saying.

    Slowest Current danske bank are
    1.lurgan
    2.lisburn
    3.lisburn road

But I have to say randalstown and shankill road are extremely good and have never had to really wait at all here! The staff have a bit of get up and go in them!

Bank staff have different roles...not all of them are cashiers.
