Yes we should have a duty of care to each other. But the duty of care someone else has for me/my safety/health should not be greater than my duty for myself/my safety/health.

Its not like cars are an unusual/rare risk when crossing a road. Anyone who isnt aware of the dangers of crossing a road should probably not be allowed out unless accompanied by a competent adult.

If you think that crossing is dangerous, you should see one of the crossings near here. Its a pavement/road/pavement one though (not just shortcut) over the slip road of a motorway. You cant cross at the other side as theres a slip road there too. All the surrounding roads are NSL so you often feel like you're playing frogger with you as the title role. :rotfl:
