I have just boiled and peeled approx. 80 odd quail eggs, which are now in the fridge, I want to pickle some of them.. and I don't know what to put in the jar with them ( chilli etc)

Well rained stayed away, so that's me finished labouring for today

Skip is well on the way to being filled. As well as all the stuff from the garden clearance, cutting down the bushes gave me access to a the side of the conservatory from where I was able to remove a rusty, broken satellite dish that made the back of the house look a right mess. What a job...still it's gone into the skip. :T

I just need to make good the damage to the cement render where the coach-bolts went in - Scottish wet will get behind & 'blow' the render easy.

I think the neighbours are a bit shocked at seeing a 4m length of shrubs cleared, so popped out to re-assure them over privacy & that some climbers for the fence was part of the re-planting scheme, not that there will be many chances to 'sit out' now in Glasgow :(

Anyway, must now prepare to hurl abuse at the TV when Wee Eck speaks during the debate
We are thinking of doing EXACTLY the same for the same reason. Sometimes the convenience is just worth it.

I've also tried Hippo bags, but a skip is far better VfM so long as it's not hugely in the way

Yes, but not all at once.;)

I take about a tablespoon or two a day. :D

It doesn't go 'off' but what they call the mother can get a bit jellified, which is quite off-putting! :eek:The hens don't seem to mind.

hahaha, will tell him I will have it,

so if it is 'jellified' it is best give it to the chickens, and not take it myself then??

Is it right you can use it for cleaning too??

I like a bit of red cabbage. Makes them look other worldly! Puts some people off though, but the colour is amazing!

We call them 'Dumpy Bags' round here. We always seem to be dragging something around in them.

I have 5 more arriving tomorrow, full of building sand & aggregate. Just as well; the bottoms wear out.

CTC you can use the vinegar yourself for as long as you can stomach it.....I'm sure it will be fine. Yes, you can use it as an acid for cleaning, or killing weeds, but what a waste!

Google it. There's a lot of nonsense out there about its properties, but I think it can be useful, and I'm almost sure it helped dissolve my kidney stone. :)

Hippo bags are much stronger than normal dumpy bags. They are more exoensive, so we tried normal dumpy bags, false investment. Hippo bags last at least a season usually . ( we have three five on the go at a time that we tow in once or twice a week) but a normal dumpy bag we're lucky to use more than thrice for that job . Sometimes once is enough.

My perpetual sweet-pea is setting seed, is it worth letting a few pods develop and sow the seed or would I be wasting my time?
